I think she’s GC but wants to be kind - the position most of us start from before getting disillusioned with extreme activists’ behaviour. As PP notes, on her menopause show Davina did reference “our trans and non-binary friends” being affected too but it felt a bit like she was paying lip service in passing, as a way of acknowledging that she’d been talking endlessly about women and women’s issues and didn’t want to exclude anyone.

Nadia on BB was a sweet and gentle person, as was the TW (Francesca?) on Long Lost Family. Nice people just getting on with their lives - and Davina probably thinks of them, not the Isla Brysons of this world, when she considers whether TWAW.

I wonder if she is pissed off that every time she talks about women and the menopause someone somewhere will tell her off for using the W word without qualifiers?

It must be so frustrating to be campaigning about an important issue - say the availability of HRT - and to be constantly told to think of the menz too.

I agree but every younger woman at work has been aware of the Davina meno push. All watched the progs. Chatting about it.

She's very into health and fitness and being physically strong.

I caught an advert on the radio not long ago. It was by Davina and it was something to do with the menopause.

I'm fairly sure she managed to do the whole advert about the menopause without specifically mentioning women once, but did refer to men (in the context of supporting their partners).

I think there were references to sisters and mothers, etc. so it wasn't entirely hopeless, but it seemed clear to me that any reference to women generally had been carefully and deliberately omitted.

She must be getting it right(er) if PN are giving her shit.

Weirdly they were burning witches in the enlightenment. Not saying the latter led to the former but its one of those odd historical juxtapositions. Whereas all the way through the "dark ages" and most of the middle ages most people wouldn't have taken the idea all that seriously. Just goes to show not all new ideas are good ideas really.
