'Trans Bathroom Manifesto' in London pub - are these doing the rounds?

Anyone seen one of these elsewhere, or has this pub written it up specially?

Actually, on further thought here are the quick alterations I would make with a sharpie:

1. Cross out everything after "are frustrated by" and write in "by not seeing you pee"
2. Cross out everything after "disproving and undermining" and just replace it with "women".
3. Cross out "messages" and write "willies" in its place.
4. Cross out everything after "as they seem" and write in "to have women in them."

I have one for 5 but it's kind of gross so left it out.

And for the big bold parts my write ins would be:
"Men's" just before toilets.
"Then use the men's" after Gender Neutral Act

Or could just put some leering eyes in the O's of Bathroom and a tongue below it and write "watching you"

I think I'd restrict myself to writing "That's nice, dear" at the bottom. With maybe an "Eh?" after the veiled threat.

Transwomen use women's bathrooms because it's not safe for the female gendered to be in bathrooms with males. That means they now ::checks notes:: ARE the males in female bathrooms so are now safe. Actual women now aren't but who cares?

So where do women go now. Do we get moved elsewhere? Course not. They couldn't get their rocks off by having power over and making the subset of women they demoted to be known as 'cis' feel uncomfortable.

I’m not saying it isn’t happening here - it absolutely is, and the US rhetoric is loud and clear. It needs to be challenged at every opportunity so that it doesn’t become the accepted norm here as well.

I'm kicking myself for buying into the whole "be kind" narrative in the early days that got us into this mess in the first place!

Just a few short years ago, I would've thought "oh, it's just one sign in one pub", but that was when I never would've imagined senior politicians would be saying that biological men are sometimes actually women and the NHS and prisons would be implementing policies for single-sex spaces on the same basis. This madness has to stop.

If it's a gender neutral act why can't they use the men's toilets? Or does it only work if you want to encroach on designated female spaces

Considering how many pubs are going under I can't think why they believe this is a good idea.

I worked in a number of pubs many years ago.

They all wanted to get young women in, because men mostly wanted to drink in the pubs women drink in.

Women in your pub (especially the under 30s) = more customers.
Those women don't want to share bathrooms with biological men, so they go somewhere else or drink at home where nobody can make the toilet a problem area.

None of those men were going to the pub hoping they could head into work the next day singing "Dude Looks Like a Lady." so I doubt they'll be rushing out to spend at the place the women won't go.

With signs like that, you see it, you avoid that place after that & you don't ever bother going back to see if they've changed their minds about womens safety & dignity mattering.

@Brokendaughter This pub is very fancy - massive very expensive wine list, excellent food and packed to the rafters most days, so I don't think they're worrying about losing custom. The sign is very much at odds with the overall feel of the place though, and the clientele who (at least on Sunday lunchtime) were very family oriented. The shouty woke sign did seem very discordant, and I did wonder whether senior management knew about / had endorsed it (and whether the same sign is displayed in the gents').

I love that they say they want to “disprove” the fearmongering etc and yet don’t even attempt to state any facts with, erm, evidence and whatnot.

My translation - we sound a bit bonkers when we talk about sports, prisons and hospitals so we're sick with toilets. See what goes on in toilets is already private so it muddies the thinking instantly and makes our colonisation of at least one part of your space so much easier.

Are you sure the pub's managers or employees put it up, and not some random trans person? Bloody stupid if it was someone working at the pub, however fancy it is.

I've a friend who always has one with her. After using if in a loo she wraps up and deposits in the sanitary bin.
