Yes, I sent support to a man who I have liked since I was 13 who is likely getting really shitty messages from people who don’t allow anyone to have nuanced thinking. He liked a Tate tweet, he didn’t come out and say ‘I think Andrew Tate is a great bloke and I support his rapist ways’, unless there’s another tweet I’ve missed?

I like Howard Donald and I am offering him my (useless and probably unwanted) support, nothing more or less than that. I sincerely doubt he is homophobic, he has kept it very quiet for many years whilst playing at gay clubs if he is.

The thing is, I actually find it incredibly offensive when people claim the biological sex isn't real or doesn't matter, as it's harmful to women and girls. But nobody cares if women are offended, just the special identity people.

I’d read up in the story about Howard before posting here. He’d been liking tweets that supported Trump so it was easy for me to identify the typo.

I guess what’s odd is that anyone is taking what a 90s pop star is doing seriously. I’ve never looked to him as a moral compass.

We all agree that trans women are women, yes?

If that's the case then the statement 'only women menstruate' is true. How can this statement be offensive to anyone because trans women are women aren't they, and therefore saying only women menstruate includes all women, trans or otherwise, surely?

So how can it be offensive? Who is it offending? The only people excluded from this statement are men, who don't menstruate. I'm lost as to what women are offended by this.

Re SF Gay Men's Chorus, the Daily Mail did a balanced article at the time. The song was satirical - converting kids to be tolerant. No mention of criminal records - perhaps the allegation came to nothing.

You shouldn't be targeting children for ideological indoctrination.

As parents you get to raise your own children with your own values to some degree.

But you can't target the neighbours kids and say, "it's just tolerance I'm teaching them".

They do. What worries me is that the actions of intolerant bullies will have consequences at the ballot box eventually. Probably in the form of the next far right Tory populist to rock up.

Frauds like Trump and Johnson are just symptoms of an underlying disease. Starmer will have one term to convince people he can improve their material conditions. He won't fob anyone off with pretty lanyards and pronoun badges.
