It's very common for people to be cancelled nowadays for having a different opinion. Happens in every walk of life not just the trans debate, also Brexit, politics, immigration... name almost anything and there will be plenty of people ready to cancel you for not having an identical view to them.
I try to encourage my kids to consider all views then make their own mind up, but that isn't possible when it's so easy to get cancelled nowadays.

I don’t know about why Abhannmor said this, but I noticed Nottingham because the City Council has cropped up on another thread. It is a Stonewall champion and refused to support a teacher who had not towed her school’s TRA line, but rather reported their affirming/transing of an eight year old in the school where she taught as a safeguarding issue.

Maybe...seems an odd thing to say about a UK popstar on a UK forum. So I didn't think it could be that....

Yes, we're not allowed to acknowledge it or mention it apparently, it's too close to some home truths for some people.

Do you really judge popstars on their frequently stupid opinions? It must be exhausting to research each performer to check they meet your criteria of acceptability.

Is it just the named performer? Or do you check out the publicist, the backing singers and musicians?

What about films, plays and books? Does everyone have to be checked for acceptable beliefs before you watch or read their art?
