oh, I see my comment got deleted. let's just say that RMW's blog reveals a fair degree of internalised homophobia, and some fairly unrealistic expectations about what transition would do to their own and others sexual orientation.

I think RMW's expectations are unlikely to have been realised, and this has probably led to some bitterness

I was being very circumspect in the way I wrote my post Bernard!

I just had a look at RMW's transition blog, which I hadn't seen before. I didn't see the bits about sex but what really struck me was the pleasure RMW got out of being on a journey. The blog stops soon after the major transition surgery and I wonder if it was hard for RMW and other trans people to have got through all the exciting milestones and be back to living normal life, just in a different role and with more medical difficulties.

A bit like when you plan a really exciting holiday and spend months booking flights and hotels and buying stuff for it and imagining all your adventures, then you get there and realise you are just the same person who is actually pretty crap at adventures

I suspect another project was required once transition had gone as far as it could be taken

That its [it=any kind of rational view about trans issues] still being entertained is a damning endictment of UK politics on all sides.

The phrase 'first world problems' is pretty much made for this statement.

Britain is imperfect, of course, but it's a relatively prosperous and peaceful democratic country, and to call it 'deeply fascist' is a fucking insult to the victims of actual fascism, frankly.

Why not point out exactly what facts and evidence were missing? What were the lies and misinformation?

because women want single sex spaces, services and sports without males in them.

They just can't stop or rein in their complete and utter hatred of women.
