Just posting this as on a thread elsewhere I made some disparaging remarks that the debate will be shuffled off to some small committee room.

But they must think that more than a few MPs are wanting to take part as I have just seen it will be in Westminster Hall.

Will be interesting to see which MPs are willing to state views about the reality of biological sex in public!

Event will be broadcast live.

Huh? Is this just a Labour "advert"?

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:31

Dodds says single sex exemptions! YES!

SunnyEgg · 12/06/2023 19:31

I’ve lost the thread what is this woman saying for Labour?

Change or not

Sounds like no change

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:31

Weaselly, but I'll fucking take it.

Should Kirsty Blackman be following Tribunal Tweets during a live parliamentary debate?

Twitter is more of a safe space. She just discovered it all sound batshit when you say it in Parliament.

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:32

Women's Aid guidance seems to be calling for single sex spaces. JEss Philips referred to it, too.

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 19:32

Many providers I speak to - how about speaking to women?

No, she should be listening to what more intelligent people have to say and learning.

Or is this simply a talking shop?

Yes, its the Parliamentary Petition Committee recognising petitions that have reached 100,00+ signatures.

If at the end of the debate a conclusion is reached, it will indicate to Government that they should then move to take it into the House of Commons to become law.

The problem here is that the debate is based on 2 conflicting petitions. So how could there be an agreed conclusion.

If each petition had had its own debate they could have put forward an agreed statement of next steps.

Wonder why the Petition Committee bundled them together.

Dodds isn’t budging from what we have

Dodds is waffling. Whilst simultaneously sitting on the fence.

Just seen a picture of Jamie wallis' hair on Twitter - particularly enjoy the little flick at the ends. Very feminine

Annaliese Dodds. I'm not sure what she's saying. Changes to the EA may bring clarity to some areas but ambiguity to others. Govt needs to explain what changes if any it's in process of doing ...

Legal analysis required.

Ramblingnamechanger · 12/06/2023 19:33

Was the man behind Dodds indicating some sort of flip flop here?

CriticalCondition · 12/06/2023 19:33

Is Wallis back in the room? I saw him leave at the last division but didn't see him come back in.

Slothtoes · 12/06/2023 19:34

Mhairi Black MP hasn’t got the memo that #nodebate is over

Dodds is selling sex fudge.

wantmorenow · 12/06/2023 19:35

Is Anneliese Dodds for or against? A brilliant politician. I have no idea what she is saying - I think she may be pro clarification.

TBF, so far she’s been on her own with the sex fudge.
