There's an interesting case going on with regard to a parent suing the ICO for not forcing SSE to give her details of their lesson plans as used in schoools.
I'm waiting for the cross examination on the playdough vulva (might have happened already - I'm catching up with the posts)

Is it on Twitter?

ArabeIIaScott · 03/05/2023 14:46

'Completely true that we did not consider that if a parent did go and look at our website, they might not see the site as we'd meant it to be, that they'd find things not suitable for young people. Completely accept this is regrettabl'

The latest one...

A: Do you check facilitators' own websites to make sure content is OK for children?
A: The websites are not aimed at children, what we look at is how well they will deliver our material to children.

Thank you, following now. This is gobsmacking - the people responsible seem to have no idea of safeguarding.

"ZG: Do you accept Miss Padalia that it is possible, likely, that a child would find your site.

DP: Yes but mostly they don't, our analytics show, and children will be finding those sites anyway. Lots of research about that. Disingenuous to say our site is the only way."

Oh well, that's fine then! 🤔🙄

Imagine saying this about knives, guns, gangs. You wouldn't. It's only with sex where "progressives" argue there should be no rules.

Mochudubh · 03/05/2023 15:22

Jeez, just reading the Twitter thread. These people should be nowhere near schools.

Madcats · 03/05/2023 15:23

This is a car crash for them.

DP: Yes, I agree. Those* are nothing to do with us, not in our curriculum, they are not related to us. Our site is not for young people. Google analytics says not much traffic from young people.

  • Websites we linked to from our website (e.g. of one of our facilitators who is developing a line of sex toys, and the adult entertainer/fetish trainer and "Squish Squash Squelch" and the facilitator with a soft porn site...."
Mochudubh · 03/05/2023 15:28

It's all very "But, but... that bit's not aimed at kids......or that bit.........or that bit, or....."

I'd want to know what the hell they were putting in front of my kids too.

Mochudubh · 03/05/2023 15:30

Ugh! Is anyone else getting a photo of the fragrant Mx Izzard at the bottom of the thread? I'm trying not to scroll down too far.

TeenDivided · 03/05/2023 15:34

Skimmed the latest tweets. Just because some kids are doing xyz or watching abc under age, surely they can't just assume they all are, and introducing things in an age inappropriate age is just, well, inappropriate?

IcakethereforeIam · 03/05/2023 15:51

Iirc the school of sexuality education were neck deep in the family sex show.

ResisterRex · 03/05/2023 16:00

These answers about Ofsted are revealing. Essentially, Ofsted cannot actually inspect if they can't have the materials being taught. Ofsted sometimes observing lessons is not inspecting, is it? It can't be.

Schools will need planning permission for the red flags raised here.

nothingcomestonothing · 03/05/2023 16:24

Q(paraphrased): children may attend a session of yours run by a fetish proponent or maker of sex toys at school, and then armed with that facilitators name, search out that person's highly NSFW website, no?

A: children don't really remember names

Wow

Datun · 03/05/2023 16:31

So the materials are not to be seen by parents, the names of the facilitators are not to be given to parents, and ofsted don't get to see the materials, either, just a summary? The only people who see it are the kids and one teacher?

What the hell is in them?

SquirrelSoShiny · 03/05/2023 16:32

Christ alive. I despair that these people got anywhere near children.

Boiledbeetle · 03/05/2023 17:06

I'm not sure i want to read the tweets the comments here are terrifying!

Have any of these people any knowledge of children? It's like none of them remember being one.

Datun · 03/05/2023 17:14

They're promoting 'sex positivity' and obviously have something to say about heteronormativity, too.

And their attitude seems to be that kids are bonking away like bloody rabbits and just need a little bit of steering into how to change all up, in every conceivable way. Because they're all doing that anyway, the horny little devils, and this way, we get back pats cos we sell ze top-notch sex knowledge that everyone will want to copyright.

Purely guesswork, obviously, because no-one's seen a single slide.

FemaleAndLearning · 03/05/2023 17:22

Dear god, their only come back is kids are doing these things anyway. 16 year olds watching 18 plus films so if they recommend it's okay, recording their conversations on Snapchat anyway so us telling them to do it is okay etc. They don't understand safeguarding at all.

My quote of the day (when witness has explained that they are willing to discuss content but NOT to show the slides etc):
"ZG: u say in WS it's fatal? Overstating?
Dp: Don't think i am. If schools have our content that's us as an org over"

Many a true word.... What on earth is going on in our schools!

Like a parent?

Bingo!

ArabeIIaScott · 03/05/2023 17:38

Good god, get these people out of schools and far away from kids.

Datun · 03/05/2023 17:45

They're teaching 'sex positivity' to children without explaining what it is and not telling the parents, and then they're expecting the children to get clarification from ... the parents? Or is there's some other 'trusted adult' they have in mind.

shouldn't a whole bunch of safeguarding qualifications be provided in the due diligence?
