The thread covers everything - from trans genocide to the ‘horror’ thought of blockers not being permitted until age 16…..

14 very predictable tweets, but a stand-out is "Eradication of trans people is a clear aim. The community is justifiably terrified. It looks like trans genocide. It feels like trans genocide." Appalling misuse of "genocide" that demeans peoples in Sudan, Ukraine, and whole people in recent history.

TheDogthatDug · 20/04/2023 08:23

I've often wondered, before this "life saving care" became more widely known about, what were the actual suicide stats for "trans kids". Because it's always transition or die isn't it? These people do love to use hyperbolic language.

loislovesstewie · 20/04/2023 08:29

I do with they wouldn't have this emotive language. There is no genocide of trans people as we know. And it's disrespectful to groups who have been subjected to genocide. I doubt if anyone who is trans has self harmed by having to wait for treatment. Other reasons perhaps but not that. She does her cause no good with me.

literalviolence · 20/04/2023 08:32

To be fair, there is a disproportionate number of people with very rigid thinking in the trans population and the powers that be are not currently helping. So it very hard for some people to see that the issue is not trans people existing, it's men in women's facilities. If trans people committed to 'just peeing' in the appropriate sex based toilets ( and all other facilities) and men stopped appropriating women's history then there really should be no problem. I do think some people can't easily think what about what is meant by existing.

oldwomanwhoruns · 20/04/2023 08:32

Good grief. It's like Waco, nutters gathering. In this case, to spur each other on into more extreme stuff. But they are doing it to kids.
Shouldn't the police be getting involved? Prevent?

What bothers me most about it is the kids I know who identify as trans are vulnerable anyway. I know several autistic girls who either identify as trans boys or non binary. I know that historically our local CAMHS has explored whether 'gender identity' has been a reason for poor mental health in autistic girls because they tried to explore it with my autistic daughter who dresses like a boy for comfort.

My point is that any evidence of suicide wouldn't necessarily mean that it was linked to being trans but linked to the vulnerability that led to the child identifying as trans in the first place ifuswim?

I know that there are some children who identify as trans who are not vulnerable, where there is social contagion but I wonder if they are as likely to go down a medical pathway.

The whole thing is a mess. Susie Green should be arrested and should not be advising vulnerable kids and families, especially not in the light of the findings of the Cass Report.

The use of “genocide” is abhorrent.

As for a residential weekend (brainwashing?) with SG…well, who’s affirming who, exactly?

Exactly.
if trans children were NOT in fact dying by suicide in numbers before 1994 then there is no problem that leads to suicide for which puberty blockers are the only solution.

FrancescaContini · 20/04/2023 08:45

I agree that it seems to be the more vulnerable children who get sucked into the ideology, rather than “being trans” and not being affirmed creating MH problems.

Signalbox · 20/04/2023 08:49

I wonder if trans extremism is even on their radar? What would need to happen to make them realise that there is a problem here?

Datdamndamp · 20/04/2023 08:55

Mainstream organisations, Mermaids and Stonewall, could have chosen to be moderate in their language, reassured their communities and entered with good faith into public debate in the best ways to accommodate trans people and other people in society.

They didn't. They stoked division and panic while rattling collecting tins to address the terrible threat they had manufactured. And it really matters that they did this, both to the wellbeing of their community but also to women who have been smeared and increasingly the target of hatred and threats of violence. They have done a terrible thing, the results of which we're only just beginning to see and I doubt they will ever be held accountable. But they're extremists and they've stoked terrorism.

FrancescaContini · 20/04/2023 08:57

@MaireadMcSweeney Nobody used the word “trans” before 1994. The language of genderist ideology that’s so readily bandied about nowadays - non binary etc - wasn’t part of common parlance.

Anyone over a certain age who uses the language themselves without any degree of scepticism is either happy to be gaslit by Stonewall et al or has no capacity for critical thinking. Unfortunately.

where were the trans kids dying by suicide since the beginning of time because medical transition wasn't available?
if they didn't exist (they didn't) then the assertion that only medical transition saves trans kids from suicide is a lie.

FrancescaContini · 20/04/2023 09:00

Agree that it should be part of Prevent as it’s a form of extremism that can readily capture very vulnerable young people, particularly given that many schools endorse the ideology 😡

I know the word “cult” is banned on here but honestly how anyone can look at this situation and not come to the conclusion that these young people are being groomed is anyone’s guess.

Boiledbeetle · 20/04/2023 09:15

The EHRC and this Tory government have clearly indicated their direction of travel. The community is justifiably terrified. It looks like trans genocide. It feels like trans genocide. Wake up and stand up people. We need you. (8/14)

Bollocks pressed wrong button

let's try again..

Ooh fuck off Susie you disingenuous destroyer of children's lives

Boiledbeetle · 20/04/2023 09:20

I'm hearing very disturbing things regarding the new services and the rules for treating young people. If they are true, they literally take us back 20 years. Blockers unavailable until 16. I should be shocked but I am not. Worried, disgusted, heartbroken? Yes. Shocked? No.(6/14)

Literally going back 20 years...God wouldn't that be glorious. Who knew that just by saying no it means time travel has been invented.

I know a lot of autistic children who feel they ‘don’t fit in’ are enticed into thinking it’s because they’re trans.

But I hadn’t put 2+2 together until now. That could be why there’s so much rigid thinking among transactivists, so much irrational fear fuelling such rage against the Others, ie us. It’s led by men who know what they’re doing, but using frightened and confused young vulnerable people as their foot soldiers.

Indeed. By coincidence, yesterday was the anniversary of the end of the Waco siege.

Datun · 20/04/2023 09:59

Helen Weobley just got a reprieve, didn't she?

It won't last.

susie Green coming out all guns blazing, because Helen Webberley has wrapped herself in a false sense of security.

Those tweets are contradictory, incoherent, emotive hyperbole.

Private doctors wanting to prescribe damaging medication to children for money, having already been in court for it, describing not being able to do it as akin to genocide, is never going to end well for them.

You'd think that gender GP having their card marked would give them a clue they should be exercising caution, wouldn't you?

Datun · 20/04/2023 10:00

I predict that Susie greens addition to gender GP is their death knell.

She is a fanatic. She's run mermaids into a brick wall, and I predict she'll do it with gender GP.
