This is the case where Mermaids challenged the Charity Commission's decision to give charitable status to the LGBA.

Don't have any more detail at the moment, but thought you'd all be interested. It's been a four month wait already.

The Charity Commission said LGBA supporters couldn't say that the only acceptable way to clean your toilet is with a loo brush.

CriticalCondition · 07/07/2023 17:31

The CC said LGBA supporters couldn't say you should arrange your cutlery drawer as knives, forks, spoons rather than spoons, forks and knives.

IcakethereforeIam · 07/07/2023 17:57

The CC said LGBA supporters couldn't say who put the ram in the ram-a-lama-ding-dong.

But if they found out they could shake his hand.

JanesLittleGirl · 07/07/2023 18:14

The CC said that LGBA supporters couldn't put the jam on before the clotted cream.

CriticalCondition · 07/07/2023 17:31

The CC said LGBA supporters couldn't say you should arrange your cutlery drawer as knives, forks, spoons rather than spoons, forks and knives.

And it didn't not say that no-one else couldn't not do that neither.

Froodwithatowel · 07/07/2023 19:15

It wouldn't be inaccurate to assume that the CC said they couldn't exactly not say this it is or isn't almost partially incorrect.

MavisMcMinty · 07/07/2023 22:14

Great piece, thanks for the share token @Igneococcus .

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/07/2023 00:10

Any Questions didn't have any questions about sex and gender, rather it concentrated on various political issues of the day, on which India appeared ill-informed and inarticulate.

Thelnebriati · 08/07/2023 00:11

Behold my surprised face.

And mine!

@BoreOfWhabylonthere's something to be said for consistency I suppose

Yes, that's a fantastic piece @Igneococcus Thanks for sharing and thank goodness for journalists like Janice Turner.

Indeed

when Gender Critical! The Musical is staged, Janice’s character will definitely have a starring role

JanesLittleGirl · 08/07/2023 11:09

Ignore this post. It's the only way I can get to the bottom of the thread without the app crashing.

Tricyrtis2022 · 08/07/2023 12:02

Janice Turner is brilliant, isn't she.

Froodwithatowel · 08/07/2023 12:12

Thank you for sharing that article, excellent as always.

This cannot be restated enough:

judges..... added that Mermaids “has no legal right to operate free of criticism”. Stonewall’s “no debate” mantra, the false equations that dissent is abuse and that words equal violence (thus justifying physical violence in response), were dismissed.

These three things, tested in law, FAILED.

This ideology has no legal right to operate free of criticism.

Dissent with this ideology is not abuse.

Criticism and dissent are NOT justification and excuse for this ideology to employ violence in belief of being exempt from law and normal standards.

Those three things in themselves are huge. Enormous.

It’s been a bad few months for the trans activists all round, really.

It has hasn't it? What transactivists don't realise is that when you deliberately avoid democratic scrutiny and impose totalitarian ideas on the rest of society, as soon as citizens step away from the bullying and enforcement, they protest. Judicial scrutiny also weighs in - hence the steady stream of cases exposing these tactics.

I noticed this earlier - the Telegraph are reporting that the long awaited guidelines for schools are yet again being delayed and tightened up. Looks as if the sticky hands of the trans activists who've dominated for so long at the DfE are finally being removed. Looks as if they were ignoring Cass. Hopefully safeguarding & wellbeing of children will be the only priority, rather than the demands of adult queer theory groups

I picture this as Jo Bartosch and Janice sitting in a box above the stage like Waldorf and Statler from the Muppets, providing wry commentary from the sidelines.

ShortSilence · 08/07/2023 16:03

You are so right @Froodwithatowel, I hadn’t thought of it that way

😂 Perfect!

The Telegraph has a good article reporting this. I read this and wondered why our women hating posters spend so much time on here? They really need to be camped out on the mainstream press who are openly reporting all the outrages and law cases going in favour of women.

The Telegraph has approached Garden Court Chambers for comment.
The findings amount to a serious embarrassment for an employer that bills itself as one of London’s finest set of trial advocates

hahahahahahaha

couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of self righteous twonks

I don't think actually making a case meets their needs the way poking women over wanting rights does.

Yes I have become a real fan of the Telegraph over the last couple of years but just recently they have surpassed themselves in the number of articles pro women's sex-based rights and child safeguarding.
One of the comments suggests the Tories give Alison Bailey a safe seat and then elect her party leader lol.
