She is the swimmer who has spoken out about Lia Thomas (both about him exposing himself in the changing room and being forced to compete against him). Now she's been attacked at San Francisco state university

The mob violence is escalating

Absolute insanity

I've been surprised a couple of prominent atheists have joined this cult. Matt Dillahunty believes magic words can't turn a cracker in to the body of Christ, but he thinks a man can become a woman without even magic words.

I've been surprised a couple of prominent atheists have joined this cult. Matt Dillahunty believes magic words can't turn a cracker in to the body of Christ, but he thinks a man can become a woman without even magic words.

That’s because his beliefs are tribal not critical or rational. He gets adulation from his tribe for criticising Christianity, an easy target that doesn’t fight back. He gets approbation and ostracisation for criticising gender ideology.

All of that tells you Matt whoever he is, is a coward whose views were never genuinely based on rigorous critical thinking, just the desire to fight in with a crowd that defined someone else as ‘other’.

Just read the full report from Riley. Three hours until the police came (not surprised by this as it's a major US city and they knew she was with campus security as police are understaffed) and three hours that mob barricaded her. They shouted abuse at Black officers. It's disgusting behavior and scary. Of course campus security was frightened.

daisy1765 · 08/04/2023 19:26

just watching a documentary on Netflix about the Branch Davidians and they reminded me of this: there's a religious fervour to the TRA's, even the atheists.

I presume the mob was predominantly made up of students from the university? Three hours barricaded into a room cannot be considered a peaceful protest. I wonder whether the university will make a stand against this? Or are they condoning it?

Oops, missed this thread and started another one about Riley Gaines being assaulted. Copying this over from there as I didn't spot these links here:

According to the civil liberties organisation FIRE (the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, formerly the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education):

Last night, protestors at San Francisco State University attempted to shout down and shut down a speaking event with former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines. The school’s Turning Point USA chapter had invited Gaines to campus to talk about gender and sports, but she was met by an angry crowd chanting and screaming at her to leave.

While Gaines gave her speech, protestors continued to disrupt the event, drowning her out by stomping and yelling inside the room and in the hallway immediately outside while she spoke. After her speech, police attempted to escort Gaines to a secure location, but the crowd followed them out of the room and down the hallway, screaming and shouting until police locked Gaines in a secure room. Gaines reportedly remained trapped inside the room for almost three hours until the protestors dispersed and police escorted her out.

According to CNN:

Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines said she was assaulted Thursday on the campus of San Francisco State University.

Gaines was at the school to speak about her views opposing the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports, according to the event announcement.

“I was physically assaulted by one person. I was struck twice, both times hitting my shoulder with the second strike grazing my face,” Gaines told CNN’s Natasha Chen. “The rest of the protestors just ambushed and cornered me before I was able to move out with the help of campus police.”

This letter from the university is astonishing.

twitter.com/davidllamas_/status/1644760038626713600?s=46&t=AjtjSItRj-kgZwRzL-pdyQ

I just don't understand how some can be so blinkered that they are unable to condemn violence against women

Florissant · 09/04/2023 10:57

That letter is appalling.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/04/2023 11:03

Not to derail but Sitt, it's not just men, though. It looked and sounded to me like the loudest were women

No surprise. Some of the loudest voices against female suffrage were women.

nilsmousehammer · 09/04/2023 11:40

'Protested peacefully' - managed to hit Gaines twice, screamed like a pack of hyenas for her to be handed over, imprisoned her and a bunch of police, and tried to extort money.

Absolute nonsensical bullshit, anyone who's watched 2 seconds of the videos can see the lies. This whole ideology is based in absolute fantasy and an inability to cope with facts or evidence.

ScrollingLeaves · 09/04/2023 11:45

Thank you to our students who participated peacefully in Thursday evening’s event. It took tremendous bravery to stand in a challenging space. I am proud of the moments where we listened and asked insightful questions. I am also proud of the moments when our students demonstrated the value of free speech and the right to protest peacefully. These issues do not go away, and these values are very much at our core.

If this is referring to what happened to Riley, then they are LIARS and everyone should know this. They are not worthy of being called a university. The protesters were aggressive, not peaceful. The core value on display in this letter is dishonesty.

It is extremely concerning the washing over of violence from the left / gender ideology and TRAs

First in NZ now this

This feels like a struggle for reality right now - biological and the ability to stand up against assault

The media, politicians and institutions are happy to see women physically attacked and then post rainbows

How troubling

nilsmousehammer · 09/04/2023 12:03

We've seen it in our politicians in the past decade.

Cummings, in a rose garden, trying the 'should have gone to spec savers' ultimate bullshit. Johnson, a master of it. The sociopathic/disordered personality behaviour of looking you straight in the eye and saying 'I didn't do it' when the evidence is on the floor in front of you.

As Cummings and Johnson discovered, the response of the person in the street with a grip on reality is 'you are mad' and to walk away, not 'ok then'.

MarshaBradyo · 09/04/2023 12:22

The media though were a major part of Johnson’s downfall and ultimately the process has dealt with it through the committee

Cummings is a disaster and luckily no longer part of WM

So we don’t have blanket acceptance of it.

When male violence, the media, politicians and institutions wash over it where do women go?

If we got wards Canada or NZ and laws change we’re in big trouble

Yep, there is a sense of radicalisation that takes place with vulnerable people being drawn into activism.

That's not quite how radicalisation works.

Think of it as a set of concentric circles. In the outer ring are sympathisers. The next ring is in the supporters. Next in is the suppliers. The final, inner ring is the people who take action.

It's not a conveyor belt.

How do we even begin to try deprogramming all these oung people who have been through a school and university system where they've been indoctrinated into believing lies, like TWAW...? This is getting really dangerous, now.

I hope Riley is OK. And I hope the zealots understand that they are proving Riley's point for her.

You build a time machine and go back to before you thought intersectionality was a great idea.
Without it we would only be arguing against less than 1% of the population and not a cult that incorporates the majority of those attending university now or in the last 10yrs. Our real hope lies with working class blue collar voters. Go to any working class pub and ask them if a woman has a penis and they will put you straight

From that letter, about their fluffy lovely students:
'It took tremendous bravery to stand in a challenging space'
No peeps, that was Riley. Not the hyena pack who can't cope with disagreement and having to defend their ideology.

Mammillaria · 09/04/2023 18:30

Wow, that letter.

It's giving 'Dolores Umbridge does gender politics'

Datun · 09/04/2023 20:40

Jeez. There must be legal recourse, surely.

She was forced into a locked room for THREE hours.

Rightsraptor · 09/04/2023 20:58

Andrew Doyle on Free Speech Nation (GB News) just called those thugs attacking Riley Gaines 'anti-free speech activists'. Spot on.

pottydimley · 09/04/2023 21:34

They're not activists, they're terrorists. And terrorists that a number of governments are frightened to tackle.
