I agree with the poster who said the National Front was less deranged . They would heckle us at Rock Against Racism of course . But most of the media and cultural establishment was against them.

I think the particular violence in this case is because this is one definitive issue almost no one agrees with. Remember that Trans group did the survey and on TW in sports no matter what the political orientation, the vast vast majority were against TW competing with women. (And then the Trans group recommended tying it is an issue to Black rights to try to get people to agree.) So they can’t let Riley speak because even your committed liberal who hates Republicans and is sympathetic to Trans kids and believes Trans women are dying and all the rest still doesn’t think sports should be mixed. And if they’re honest, they’re uncomfortable with penis in the change room too. So to avoid actually confronting that no sane woman wants to see unsolicited penis, they have to shut Riley down violently. They know any normal person listening will say “hang on, I believe in Trans rights, but I didn’t think that meant getting naked in the change rooms or winning championships against women.” They can’t allow that to happen so the screaming and violence is the distraction.

That testimony from Riley was really moving. If a trans person gave such an account that mob would watch it with tear filled eyes. When it’s a women talking of the trauma of been allowed no boundaries or rights, they have no empathy.

Honestly, I see that mob, screaming abuse as absolutely no different from the mob in that famous photo of the black young women, walking through a screaming white mob as they attend a newly desegregated school. I have heard people defend that mob as ‘oh well everyone thought like that then’ but that’s no excuse. There was an active debate and there’s no excuse for having not heard and understood both sides. I don’t understand what you are saying at all, let alone in response to my post.

Whilst simultaneously getting very heated and upset that violence against women and girls is still a thing. They haven't ventured as far as to wonder why. They know women are, and always will be, vulnerable to male pattterns of behaviour and violence - but have to hold to a belief that some males can magically transform into females and thus are no longer a threat of any kind.

To all the posters saying ‘ no one want to see a dock in their changing room’. Can I just say, as someone who has lived with someone who gave me no right to bodily privacy when undressing or washing, that it’s the being forced to be naked/ undressing in front of a male who you don’t want to see you naked, that is so awful. It says very clearly, ‘ you are nothing, you are worthless, you have no rights and no power’. It’s an absolutely clear and unambiguous shout of dominance and control. You can see how Riley is crying when she recounts this to the committee.

It’s why I’m so furious at those women, and men, screaming at her that she has to submit to this. They are actively seeking to create a class of men that women have to submit themselves to, even in their most intimate and vulnerable moments. Women have no rights if they don’t even have the right to choose who they are naked in front of. Those protestors disgust me.

I do agree with you @Notatmine no male sees me naked except my husband. Even guys I know and trust! I don’t get changed with my dad or brothers? It’s so wrong to make women and girls uncomfortable about our boundaries
