You would think they were a few years too late for going through bins too.

Yes. Given that he and his wife, along with everyone else, have known for a long time that a police investigation was underway, it has given plenty of time for anyone involved in a financial crime to destroy evidence. What's the point of going through bins that would have stuff that was only put in them this week? Anyone sensible would have used a shredder in any case. I am a bit puzzled as to what the police are up to. Always possible they know something we don't, I suppose.

Shelefttheweb · 06/04/2023 11:12

You wonder if it is about the police trying to cover their own tracks?

SquidwardBound · 06/04/2023 11:35

I suspect it just pure process. There’s probably a procedural checklist: search bins, being one of the items on it.

Either than or they really do want to know the secrets of peter’s sausages.

Doesn't he like a bit of "green" with his sausage?

lechiffre55 · 06/04/2023 12:13

where can I get more info about what's being hinted at here please?
I assume from what's been written that as well as lending money he's also lent out sausage? to a green?

You would think they were a few years too late for going through bins too. Peter has had years to get rid of stuff - this goes back to 2017, even HMRC don’t expect you to keep records that long. And even in the normal course of things, he is like to have changed his computer at least once in that time.

HMRC it's years here we had sheds full of paper and the mice had a field day 😁

I’m actually not hinting at anything. Just talking shite. Since genuine speculation is not allowed then nonsense about peter’s (quorn) sausages are where it’s at.

Hello and apologies in advance for crashing this thread so late.

What are people thinking could be buried?

  • Obviously paperwork- however, they had plenty of time and could have shredded it or burned it.
  • Computers, phones, etc- yet you can restore factory settings, wipe hard drives and then physically break them.
  • Valuables - turning money into diamonds or gold so as not to need the bank.
  • Incriminating but sentimental things they wanted to dig back up once it’s all over.
  • Private/embarrassing things - hiding all the kinky stuff when they knew a search was imminent.
  • A body - that is completely insane.

Where are you leaning with it?

Shelefttheweb · 06/04/2023 14:30

They’ve definitely buried independence somewhere….

Scottish contempt laws are very strict for ongoing legal investigations and the authorities have specifically highlighted them in the context of this investigation.

Does that apply to residents in England?

Yes, does it? 👀

Shelefttheweb · 06/04/2023 14:38

Not just about contempt though. It is also about the ability to hold a fair trial.

lechiffre55 · 06/04/2023 14:40

I have speculated all sorts of wild stuff myself. And yes I'm dying to know too why the police seem to have installed enough tents for a royal wedding.
It's probably on mumsnet to patrol threads on this subject. But safest to avoid any issues, expecially when there are so many concern trolls visiting on such a regular basis. Best not feed them any ammunition.

lechiffre55 · 06/04/2023 14:41

Yes it very much applies to England and Wales.

EndlessTea · 06/04/2023 14:44

Argh. I need to sit tight.

lechiffre55 · 06/04/2023 14:44

just make sausage jokes like everyone else.....

Shelefttheweb · 06/04/2023 14:48

Whilst bearing in mind contempt stuff, it could still be fun to speculate what could be buried in their garden:

Independence
Incorrect responses to the GRR Bill
The missing 30,000 SNP members
Democracy
Votes for Kate Forbes
Suffragette merchandise that had been for sale in the Holyrood shop
Scottish Education
Hate Crimes Bill (buried by the police yesterday)
The Scottish Tourism Industry

Nightlystroll · 06/04/2023 14:49

lechiffre55 · 06/04/2023 14:41

Yes it very much applies to England and Wales.

How come then England and Wales has laws that are not binding to Scotland. So English newspapers couldn't out footballers but Scotland could?
But just to be on the safe side, though, because I don't want 20 police officers trawling through my knicker drawer - although my back garden could do with a good dig over - I'll be 🤐

CaveMum · 06/04/2023 15:05

Isn't the Stone of Destiny in Edinburgh Castle supposed to be a fake (according to the conspiracy theorists)? Maybe Wee Nick buried the real one in her backyard...

I was just going to post the same thing. They do not fuck about with contempt of court up here. Being prosecuted is not an idle threat, and living in England or Wales will not protect you if you write something on a website that could be classed as cross-border. Please be careful.
