This must be what prompted her out-of-nowhere resignation?

This was my thought. Yet she certainly implied that it was all the unkind folk picking on an honest female politician who were driving her out.

Bit duplicitous?

There are at least 3 big green boxes of evidence in this photo, taken outside SNP HQ.

Is it a bad time to make jokes re: closeted skeletons?

(wouldn’t have let him go home so quick, surely?)

The police are just helping Nicola with a wee bit of gardening. They started out by admiring her beautiful daffodils and then decided they’d help her out with getting the borders all ready for this years bedding plants. She picked up a couple of nice trays of pansies along with her messages at Asda at the weekend so the beds really needed sorted.

Nightlystroll · 05/04/2023 21:37

Isn't it normal to arrest someone, interview under caution, then release as further investigations are made? It would be highly unlikely in a financial case that the police would be cognisant of all the facts so soon.
He's not going to get charged, though. They both know nothing, did nothing, can't remember nothing. Didn't they both rehearse this for Salmond's case?

ArabellaScott · 05/04/2023 22:04

Still a live case, pending further investigation.

Thanks, I'm shadowing the fuck out of Wings of Scotland, they must have taken their eye off the ball.

I may have to swallow my pride and follow Wings on Twitter. 😬

Officers were seen searching through bins and examining a barbecue in the garden.

This was clearly because, while they were helping with the garden, they realised that Peter and Nicola’s famed barbecues are such a success because they add some special wood chips in with the coals. It makes all the difference to the sausages. So they had a look at the set up and then checked the bin to be sure what kind of wood chips they’ve been using.

The chief Constable is hoping to have a wee barbecue over Easter if the weather is alright. So the officers were just helping him out there.

TodayInahurry · 06/04/2023 07:10

Probably looking to see what papers they had been burning. Love the ‘money just resting in my account’. Love Father Ted

SquidwardBound · 06/04/2023 07:13

Nope. It’s definitely trying to discover the secret of peter’s sausages.

Of course, they’re thwarted because they don’t know what’s in his special barbecue sauce.

FannyCann · 06/04/2023 08:24

Some great replies to those tweets.

"All the landscaper said was, “you’ll have to put a lot of money into this garden to make it look good”😳"

😂😂😂

Whatever people's views on Wings, if what he said is true, he brought all this to the attention of various Scottish newspapers/political journalists two years ago and didn't receive a reply from even one. So, hell mend them.

Wonder if there's a log burner 🤔

Boiledbeetle · 06/04/2023 08:34

I'm wondering what i need to do to get the police to come round and jet wash the back yard. There No actual garden for them to dig up, but there are a couple of weeds that are trying to lay claim to the area, dandelions will grow anywhere!

Yeah, it is sometimes hard to get over my own internal purity spiral but his stuff is usually spot on when it all comes out in the end. Still can't forgive him for his stubbornness a while back, but I understand where he was coming from even if i didn't agree with the way he went about things.

anyolddinosaur · 06/04/2023 08:51

I believe in innocent until proven guilty so I look forward to Mr Murrell getting his day in court, although with financial cases it's likely to be rather more than a day.

SquidwardBound · 06/04/2023 09:16

The thing about financial cases is that the details are likely to be boring and technical. Extremely. Technical discussions of accountancy rules and such like. Even if there’s a court case (not a foregone conclusion by any means), this is rarely edge of your seat material.

The odds of it being a case of dancing round a bonfire of fivers in the back garden are low. Although, the biggest question if that were the case would be: why?

So far the details in the press just emphasise the lack of glamour in police work. Going through people’s bins is not the stuff of career dreams.

Shelefttheweb · 06/04/2023 10:37

You would think they were a few years too late for going through bins too. Peter has had years to get rid of stuff - this goes back to 2017, even HMRC don’t expect you to keep records that long. And even in the normal course of things, he is like to have changed his computer at least once in that time.

Is there jury service in Scotland? I pity those poor people.
