I completely disagree with this bit: ”Mr Adamson acknowledged that she did a "really good job" keeping people safe during the Covid pandemic”.

Keeping children safe is about healthy development, education, mental health, treating developmental issues within the appropriate window of development, as well as keeping them away from abuse and neglect. NS kept children out of school longer than England, including preventing transitional activities between education stages. Far fewer vulnerable children were supported in school than elsewhere, she was responsible for facemasks in school even though the report at the time said they may increase risk of infection. She kept soft play places shut while pubs were open. She caused untold stress over exam results. Mr Adamson failed to speak up for children at the time too.

Agreed. This report does smack of being written well after the stable door was shut and, to mix, metaphors, the rats left a sinking ship.

Sturgeon's COVID "strategy" (apart from lying when the first cases appeared) was (a) leave Boris to decide when restrictions can be lifted and do the same 2 weeks later and claim credit for being more cautious than him and (b) create fake Scotland exceptionalisms.

Nicola means that Nicola does not see how her own personal rights are being infringed.

I am left to wonder whether she has managed to remain totally ignorant and naive as to the fact that there are many women in her country, without her privilege, with different life experiences such as abuse, disability, trauma, culture, faith, DV/DA/CSA, who are affected. And has managed this despite years of all the many many attempts of such women to communicate with her that there are other women on the planet and not all of them living in her lovely bubble.

Or whether she knows and just does not care.

I'm not sure which is worse. But if she believes in excluding and oppressing vulnerable females to enable male people to have more choice, then she needs to own it. And explain her very binary sex based discrimination.

How can she win an award for being an ally when she has single handedly done more to highlight the problems of self ID to the general public than any other woman (Isla Bryson obviously holds this title for both the male and the rapist categories)? If she had taken a more measured approach, she could have got a lot more 'progress' without all the issues. Instead she really has significantly set the cause back. Not that that's a bad thing but it really is quite incredible to be celebrating her support when she made such an absolute mess of it.

Nicola Sturgeon has reiterated her “unflinching” support for trans rights as she overcame Dawn French and Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe to secure an LGBT+ champion award.

Sounds like some kind of ultimate fighter smackdown.

Which, do you think, was the hardest opponent? Radcliffe is small, but wiry. French is getting on, but probably no pushover.
