Colin Beattie resigns as SNP treasurer after arrest

Obviously Westminster's fault.

Apparently it sat on Ma Murrell’s drive and didn’t go anywhere for 2 years… and as it went off to Caravan Prison on the back of a police tow truck, it must have very low mileage indeed.

That'll be worth a bob or two, then.

Do they use John Pye for seized goods auctions in Scotland, as a matter of interest?

Wait - and "Any" ???
🤷‍♀️Whatever 🙄😂

That looks like a thing to search the list of MPs. So if you're specifically looking for male (gendered) MPs, you would tick "male" but if you want it to show all MPs (from a particular party, geographical area, whatever you've selected in the other fields) regardless of gender, you would tick "any."
Hopefully they aren't suggesting they have individual MPs who describe themselves as "gender: any" !

I'm not saying I approve of the options btw.

"Both" would be better, but I suspect whoever created the search facility is too captured / frightened to admit that sex is binary.

I love the second photo showing the motorhome behind bars.

Me too. The image of a sad, imprisoned campervan is quite the representation of the SNP in 2023.

Boiledbeetle · 19/04/2023 19:04

The camper van was fitted up!

Just like poor Deirdre.

Fitted out, fitted up, what's the difference?

We did that with an old car we didn’t get round to selling, though only for six months, SORNed. The breaks seized up and the battery died. The tyres can develop flat spots too. In lockdown the AA were kept busy with flat/dead batteries from cars that were not run enough to recharge the battery.

Shelefttheweb · 19/04/2023 19:21

(On our drive, not Mrs Murrell’s)

£150,000 per annum, full receipts provided.

Villagetoraiseachild · 19/04/2023 21:41

I bet Mrs Murrell is glad to get her drive back and probably giving it a good swill down.

ThatsGenderwang · 21/04/2023 06:23

I can’t watch it now because OH is still asleep but will save it for later. Thanks.

I see the Times this morning has a headline about HY: ‘Yousaf is out of touch and incompetent, say voters’. With photo.

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 21/04/2023 08:13

Ha!! Hilarious autocorrect there.

Humza, not Human!

(Though Human Useless has a ring to it ...)

SquidwardBound · 21/04/2023 12:36

shame we don’t use a surname first naming convention in the uk. Then useless human would be the obvious nickname.

The really depressing thing from that article is just how strongly the sense of the SNP being kept from a lib-dems style collapse into irrelevancy by the lack of any other options. Being possibly the least awful option is a low bar and the people of Scotland deserve better.

Not that Westminster offers anything more inspiring either. Politically we seem to have to settle for deciding whether we’d like to lose a head, a leg or a toe. And the SNP seem to think being viewed as the toe amputation option is a good thing. Where is the option to retain all body parts, never mind the option to improve in some way?
