I would like to express my thanks to many of the posters on this board. The 'Fam' thing, clumsy writing, and social justice warrior taking over the intent was beautifully highlighted by many posts.
Doctor Who has been a favourite of mine since childhood. There were some Doctors who were impressive and others may not have been amazing.
When Peter Capaldi took the role I became less interested mainly because the plots were less engaging and the writing was lacking. His replacement faced a difficult task.
I stopped attending church as listening to the preaching from the pulpit was not mandatory. Doctor Who became a replacement pulpit used to explain to any viewer the nature of their crimes. It was as subtle as the Minister expounding about all the sin he saw within his congregation.
I stopped watching Doctor Who for the reason I stopped attending church (but the miogyny of the church was also a factor). Reading this thread made me realise it was not just my imagination the show had wandered far from entertainment.
Thank you, women of Mumsnet.
