Genuine question... Why is it right to change birth certificates? Surely these are accurate records of an event in time. Because years later, you feel that you are the opposite gender and get a GRC, it does not mean that your birth did not happen the way it is recorded. I don't understand why this is part of the process.

It shouldn’t be allowed. It’s going to be really hard to create an accurate family tree if this kind of thing can happen. These are meant to be accurate official documents and changing them later shouldn’t happen.

It's mad isn't it? Adoption certs supercede birth certs but Don replace. I Don't see why gender certs can't be the same, or preferably be scrapped as they are nonsense.
