Sharing this here as I feel it's important to see both sides on a forum like this, where there are many articles shared about scenes getting nasty at protests, and I haven't seen anything about it yet. Lilly was accosted whilst literally just eating a salad and live streaming.

My opinion: It's sad, and makes me fearful for the future.

@Helleofabore it's been a while since we have chatted! How are you? You are of course correct. I agree with your point about culpability. It's not black and white but that doesn't mean every trans person is responsible for a few trans peoples actions and for a lot of non trans people's decision making/ignorance/collusion.

A Woman would be very unlikely to film or even be very bothered by a drunk person harassing them unless they were very frightened or physically assaulted.
Having some idiot abuse you for your appearance is so unusual that we just shrug and think “whatever”

Everyone should be able to eat a meal in peace, not being bothered by random people.

I've been pestered by random men before now. I've had to tell them to go away and even had to ask staff to intervene. If I filmed it no-one would watch that, though.

Males, whatever they wear and whatever drugs they are on, are normally physically stronger than women. This person was not really worried in the slightest about their safety and knew that they would get help if they needed it. Women are not so lucky.

That's terrible, and really wrong - it should never have happened, and the woman who was harassing the lady filming should have been escorted out straight away.

Thankfully such incidents are rare, but that doesn't make it OK.

However, I imagine Lily was not terrified that the old lady would physically attack them and even if that happened I think we know who would come off worst
