Shocking scenes in Auckland, TRA pours liquid on KJK

I'm not even sure what to say about this, I just find it really shocking.

Baying mobs surrounded the intended event, one got onto the podium and poured red liquid all over KJK and KJK had to be removed amidst a huge crush.

I hope everyone is OK.

It was actually the police in Canberra.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-65060525.amp

Well, then the police should definitely know better. Although most private security are ex police. To be clear, I’m not blaming KJK for the assault on Lidia Thorpe, I’m blaming the bloke who actually pulled her over no matter what uniform he was wearing.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 25/03/2023 22:24

And i think in the case of KJK everyone thinks it was the violent peoples fault that there was violence

Hepwo · 25/03/2023 22:25

It’s utterly bizarre and gutting

Why though? You have no idea who any of us are so why are you so upset by that we don't really endorse your rather partial and manipulative perspective. No one has to.

We've seen these performances already today. It's all rather predictable.

When the senator falls to the ground she’s behind the security guys and it’s hard to tell if she fell or was slammed by the police officer. I don’t see any other moments where they could be accused of violence. Not even the senator seems to be accusing Posie’s own security of violence, I can’t see how you could.

I would never rush towards a woman speaking at an event uninvited, shouting ‘you’re not welcome’ after they had been receiving death threats and clearly had security. What the heck do you think is going to happen? They had seconds to assess risk and I think handled it proportionately. It is what I would expect security to do for me regardless of sex of the person.

Fair enough, but similarly I’d never walk alone down a dark alleyway at night either. Doesn’t mean I deserve whatever violence occurs to me.

I don’t agree that “what I’d do” is ever the correct logic to use when assessing whether violence is proportionate. After all, you probably are not a senior politician and public figure, essentially a VIP who is normally exempt from the stand in a queue to meet a foreign activist etiquette that regular people have to abide by.

Imagine if you will if it had been Boris Johnson confidently striding up to KJK in Brighton. This wouldn’t have happened to him. Depressingly because he’s a man. It appears that no matter how senior a politician you get to as a woman, you still get zero respect.

I mistook the uniform. It’s clear from my post exactly who I was talking about in the footage.

Many of you think both attackers were male

ive just read that the person concerned said they were born male

po po looked male to me

Where was this?

yeah but to be fair if it didnt happen to him it would be an actual shame

(and yes i feel bad saying that but i really liked the trump arrest deep fake photos)

Not similar whatsoever. That’s ridiculous. You should be able to walk alone, but due to mens violence we can’t. Nobody should be allowed to storm someone’s event and approach someone in that circumstance, when she’s dealing with threats.

The senator is nowhere near as well known as Boris is, obviously. They didn’t know who she was and even if they did she was interrupting an event and yelling you’re not welcome! Another poor comparison. I think you are a disingenuous poster. There’s lies and twisting of peoples intentions so I can’t go round in circles with you any longer.

Third spaces are the answer.

Quite simple.

Still waiting for the TRAs to turn their energies and money towards providing these everywhere.

It's been said before, I have no real argument to not have third spaces, however

It will end up being another mens space.
A few women will use it, get assaulted, filmed, etc then quit using it, trans women will never use it as they see themselves as women, so it'll be a default mens space. So men will get double the provision and women, well we get what on again. But yay equality.

Why? Because so far I’ve been told by several posters (not all) that Lidia Thorpe wasn’t assaulted or she deserved it and KJKs assault was caused by women half a world away inciting violence.

When you say “we don’t endorse..” are you saying you also disagree with me then? Then it would logically follow that you are one of those who think that Lidia Thorpe either was not assaulted or deserved it, and think that KJK’s assault was caused by U.K. women inciting violence from afar?

Hepwo · 25/03/2023 22:38

I think people struggle here when they barrel in with walls of text full of spin and padding and not fact checked, and then go on to give a telling off on the basis of this poor quality stuff .

I've been watching Posies tour threads for a few days and many people here have fact checked as well as they can, as is the way here.

The fifth person making overblown claims ain't going to get very far.

I wonder why they don't check or read the thread before barreling in?

The sanctimonious walls of flakey text just get funny after a while.

I rather feel you are not being objective in how you use emotive words like “storm” and “yelling” when the footage doesn’t show that at all. You did note her shoes? And the rain? It would be physically impossible to “storm” or as you claimed earlier “run” in those shoes on wet soggy grass. I honestly feel you are using hyperbole to defend and justify male violence.

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 22:42

Nobody here has said the words ‘she deserved it’ about Ms Thorpe. Posies security did their job, you cannot approach her like that and expect security to let you, they moved her away. They did not assault her. You cannot tell IMO from the video I’ve seen how Ms Thorpe got to the ground, whether it was that policeman or she fell, other people are in the way, but they’re investigating right? Perhaps a different angle can resolve it.

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 22:44

‘Storm the stage’, as in, try to interrupt a speech at an event you are not speaking at, in protest. If we can hear her, she’s yelling. Nobody knows what her intentions are.

None of the minor details affect my overall points. Was the bloke that assaulted Lidia Thorpe wearing a security uniform or a police uniform? Was the attacker with the soup a woman or a man in a pink dress disguised as a woman?

Neither of these minor details affect the fact as to who is getting the blame on this thread for these assaults on two women. I had really expected to see a majority consensus condemning VAW by the attackers themselves on here, not so many victim blaming and third party women blaming opinions.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 25/03/2023 22:48

Where did that bottom twitter thingy come from?

is that new? I am not taking responsibility for that!
