Shocking scenes in Auckland, TRA pours liquid on KJK

JacquelinePot · 25/03/2023 09:59

I'm not even sure what to say about this, I just find it really shocking.

Baying mobs surrounded the intended event, one got onto the podium and poured red liquid all over KJK and KJK had to be removed amidst a huge crush.

I hope everyone is OK.

Most of these men are sexually motivated. They fantasise about having a vagina and all the things they want to stick in it.

They think nothing like women.

Baldieheid · 25/03/2023 17:07

From that, I can only conclude that you'd be happy to deny women, the female kind, those of us with vaginas and uteruses and breasts, the dignity of facilities free from those we easily recognise as male? Don't give me any of this pish about them not being obvious. Caitlyn Jenner has more money than God and clearly has spent a fortune looking the way they do, yet they are still, clearly, obviously male - and absolutely clear about that too.

well, no. I definitely don't want to deny women and girls safe spaces.
but I also think there is some rigid thinking going on, and a lack of compassion (and yes I know we have had too much 'be kind' nonsense)
I HATE the fact that rape crisis centres allow anyone identifying as anything in. I hate that sport has been take over by the debate.
I hate that the word woman is being erased.
But I think transpeople ARE being discriminated against. They have become a bit of a bogeyman.

Thelnebriati · 25/03/2023 17:17

But I think transpeople ARE being discriminated against.

In what way?
Women's boundaries are being forcibly removed and women are being castigated. Compared to Nazis. Called bigots. I don't think you know what discrimination looks like.

Hepwo · 25/03/2023 17:18

CarryMeOut · 25/03/2023 16:17

I am fine with women only space. But many who support KJK say there is no such thing as trans.

Trans people are currently having a massive row with each other over this very point.

A recent transitioner says that gender dysphoria doesn't exist and the NHS should give free surgery and hormones and hair removal etc on demand because they choose it.

They are all annoyed about this because dysphoria as a medical diagnosis is the only reason it's treated by the NHS and covered by insurance.

So they can't even agree if it's a choice to live this way or not themselves.

You can't help but extrapolate from this row that it's existence, the idea of trans, is a bit shaky at best

Come now. Not 'most'. SURELY this is a tiny tiny minority? the autogynephilic lot?

Wellies54 · 25/03/2023 17:19

I was 'be kind' for a long time before I really thought everything through.

When you deny reality you can be manipulated into excusing all sorts of behaviour. Reality; No man is a woman, no man can become a woman, no man can know what it feels like to be a woman.

I find it helps to simply replace the word transwoman with the word man.
E.g. That man wants to use the women's toilets. That man wishes to race in the women's category. That man has had his genitals removed. It clarifies exactly what is going on.

Some transwomen, I am sure, do experience severe distress, but so do a lot of people and they don't get to change the behaviour and beliefs of everyone around them to accommodate them. They have to learn to cope in the real world.

I don’t believe that there is an extra category of person called ‘trans people’.

There are women. There are men.

There are some people who copy the clothes, styling and accessories (stereo)typical of the other sex.

Others are into body morphication - with varying degrees of severity.

None have changed sex, none can change sex.

How are they being discriminated against? Exactly?

They still have their rights as their actual sex.

Transpeople also have additional protection under the GRA 2004. They are covered in the Equality act if they are discriminated against.

So how exactly are they being discriminated against? Women just want the men to get out of our spaces prisons and sports.etc.

That’s really interesting @LondonJax. Thank you for sharing.

Wrong again

WickedSerious · 25/03/2023 17:20

Being denied 'rights' that no one else has isn't discrimination.

dimorphism · 25/03/2023 17:22

Where else to men have the 'right' to ignore women saying 'no'.

Oh yes, Afghanistan.

I would,yes.

Me too, and I'd put him in the men's as well. He was a ghastly abusive husband and father.

What's the discrimination?

Genuinely. What discrimination?

Not allowed to marry? Nope, not that.

Not allowed to have a job? Nope. Pip Bunce has done very well, thank you very much, as has Debbie Hayton and Robin White. All pretty successful, I'd say.

Not allowed to use public transport, or told to sit in particular seats? Nope, not happening, thank goodness.

Not allowed to vote? Ah, no.

Not allowed to be MPs? Or Doctors? Or lawyers? Or teachers? Nope, see Bunce and Hayton and White.

Discrimination - being asked to play sports against members of their own sex, being asked to use facilities intended for their own sex, being asked NOT to use facilities intended for the opposite sex.

Have I missed anything?

EndlessTea · 25/03/2023 17:24

There are those who have worked with male transsexuals extensively. They say there are three types, and they are all sexually motivated.

  1. Homosexuals who want to be desired by men, as though they are women.
  2. Heterosexuals who are in love with and turned on by the idea of themselves as women.
  3. Bisexuals who are turned on by themselves as women, but go out on the pull dressed as women in order to be validated by getting shagged by men.

Also, of the three, type 2 are overwhelmingly the most common.

I don't agree that 'third spaces' is the simple option.
Would you put Jan Morris in a third space?
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/20/books/jan-morris-dead.html

Ah good old Morris gets rolled out. You should look up what Morris's kids had to say about their father.

@JacquelinePot you may be right. I’m very much a peacemaker and “live and let live” type at heart but I do also see the issues here. I’d love to find a middle way but perhaps there simply isn’t one. At one point I would have said that trans women using women’s toilets isn’t a big deal but I appreciate that can lead to male predators taking advantage of the special arrangements for transwomen.

I have to say that I used a temporary small mixed sex toilet at Gatwick at one point when they were redoing the women’s loos and had no separate loos and suddenly felt extremely on my guard and a bit intimidated when I realised I was in a tiny room in a queue of about 12 young strong men who all knew each other chatting in another language and towering over me (I have a history of being a victim of domestic abuse so possibly that feeds into it but still). It’s one thing in theory and another in practice. Plus the place stank of male urine and there was pee all over the seats which was not pleasant lol.

I’m very aware of the GIDS scandal (I’m a GP). And have been following Keira Bell’s case after reading about it on here (I have been lurking for a while). I will look up the other things you mention. I’m still thinking about it all!

Discrimination = having an unknown liquid substance hurled at you for daring to "Let Women Speak"

Discrimination = having people say its your own fault for being mouthy and opinionated

Discrimination = having smears and lies told about you repeatedly and despite all evidence to the contrary, believed.

Discrimination = having a baying mob of men scream at you for hours because you want to say something they don't want you to say.

Discrimination = not being able to use your local swimming pool as the ladies' only session is now populated by males self identifying as transwomen

Discrimination = not being able to get support from your rape crisis centre as there are males in every session and when you ask if you can have a female only session, you're told to fuck off.

Discrimination = girls avoiding school during their periods as the toilets are now mixed sex and changing a towel or tampon whilst teenage boys howl outside your cubicle is just too fucking much to deal with.

Need I go on?

spring1976 · 25/03/2023 17:30

divisive? Can you explain, specifically, how her views are divisive? As far as I can tell, she speaks factually and accurately and in support of separate sex spaces. Is that divisive and if so, why?

Do you blame the victims of other crimes as well? Or just KJK?

Buffypaws · 25/03/2023 17:31

Regardless there are women in New Zealand who want to hear her speak and take their turn. Why should they be silenced?
