Though it's interesting that she has a sense that recognizing women in the film industry is important.

She’s very supportive of her transgender child. There are wonderful photos online of her officiating at their cosplay wedding in 2021.

There was something of a scandalette when she put some pictures of her office on Instagram, people noticed she'd chosen to decorate it with a very disturbing picture of, what appeared to be, a naked child in a suitcase.

I can't blame her for supporting her adult child. But he seems to be troubled.

And yet her actual daughter, a celebrated dancer and dance teacher who specialises is teaching disabled children….. not a dickey bird. Funny that isn’t it?

She has had years of speculation on if she is intersex, did she have surgery etc so maybe she is just supportive of people with sex/gender identity issues.

That's right @Happylittlechicken but the child who is apparently a nappy fetishist and 'furry' is celebrated and paraded around. But Annie? Not so much...maybe Annie has just got her own life and Jamie Lee is making up for the time she was absent from her adopted son's life.

DSD's are nothing like being trans and the two are in no way related - just as sex and gender are very different things. One is biological, the other is a social construct.

JLC has. I don't know anything about her children other than a vague memory of her adopting them, which of course started a whole new round of speculation.

People speculating about your sex and talking about it are related though and quite possibly could make her sympathise as could her trans child.

I've literally never heard anyone ever speculating this.

If JLC does have a DSD then it didn't stop her taking roles where she wore just underwear. Maybe she struggled with fertility for other reasons and that's why she adopted her children but if she does have a DSD she is an example of how it didn't hold her back.

I found it odd that she gives adds the surname to Annie but not to Ruby in a speech made after appearing with both her children on the red carpet:

"I am proud to be the wife of Christopher Guest. I am so proud to be the parent of Annie Guest and Ruby, and I'm really proud to be a friend to so many people who share everything with me: good, bad, hard, soft, joyful, tragic. Because that's the beautiful part of life."

JLC being 'an hermaphrodite' is one of those daft Hollywood rumours that goes around.

Like Jane Mansfield was decapitated in her fatal car accident and Katy Perry is JonBènet Ramsay.
And Mama Cass died by choking on a ham sandwich.

It's just good old fashioned misogyny, really.

Unfortunately for Ruby people have started going through Ruby's twitter and Instagram feeds and apparently it's all creepy animma stuff and there's some dodgy pictures of Ruby going around online due to jlc and her Oscar speach so much so that jlc is loosing it a bit on twitter

Haven't heard what? Speculating about JLC? Well I suppose I'm older than you and it was definitely speculated on. I just googled it, thought maybe it was forgotten, and results came up, some of the articles quoted are quite recent.

Yes it regularly did the rounds for some years. I just think having that sort of thing regularly wheeled out about you would make you sympathetic to other people who get talked/gossiped about and of course she is going to be supportive of Ruby.

Whenever I've seen her interviewed she has always come across as a nice person.

I'd heard the Jane Mansfield one and the Mama Cass one but I hadn't heard the Katy Perry one. I guess people just make up crazy stories and then they get repeated.

Lol yes @KatMcBundleFace I’ve never heard it that apparently well known rumour either about JLC & I’m definitely old enough to have been around for JLC career from the early days

Actually I was unfair about Snopes, they did qualify the Faux-Sterling percentage. But it was unhelpful to lead with it in the first place.

I heard years ago, or maybe read, that JLC had said she'd always known she couldn't have children. Whatever the truth of that, DSD or not, she's female.

I'm shocked that Rubys Twitter and Instagram feeds are filled with what they are filled with. Shocked I tell you! Shocked.
