Get paid for drugged sex!

Well, this is a bit special:

A BBC documentary has sparked outrage after a sex therapist suggested men who have a fetish about sex with unconscious partners should be able to pay women to be drugged

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-11831307/We-Need-Talk-Bill-Cosby-Sex-therapist-calls-women-drugged-money.html

Is it me or is the world getting madder?

OP posts:

I saw That headline. Maybe the therapist should volunteer to trial it for a few weeks then come back and update us all!
Madness that a woman would deem this was even acceptable to even give mind to never mind speak aloud.

Mrsjayy · 08/03/2023 09:09

Well quite, therapist could do it as part of their research
How frightening is that just pay to do it who thinks like that!

RudsyFarmer · 08/03/2023 09:09

Women aren’t even safe in morgues once they’re dead but this ‘expert’ thinks we should be lining up to be sedated so some NAMALT can get his kink satisfied? Yeah no thanks, you first.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 08/03/2023 09:10

Ms Rashatwar told the programme: ‘If we actually grappled with the fact that sex negativity is what causes this type of behaviour, then we could create a world, where in an idyllically sex positive world, someone is able to pay conscious women to come and be drugged so that I can get my kink out, my fetish on having sex with unconscious people. There’s a consensual way to do that.’

gosh, that does sound idyllic, doesn’t it?

  1. acting out fetishes generally escalates them rather than ‘getting them out’

  2. if your fetish involves non consensual sex, then you should choose not to do it. There’s plenty more to life than getting your end away

DysonBison · 08/03/2023 09:16

The words 'sex negativity' and 'sex positivity' are doing some very heavy lifting there.

IcakethereforeIam · 08/03/2023 09:45

Not my area of expertise, but I suspect for some the consent, or rather lack of, is part of the kink.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 08/03/2023 09:49

I suspect you're right, cake.

And once the woman is 'consensually unconscious' there is no way for her to know that the 'client' will stay within any other previously agreed boundaries.

FigRollsAlly · 08/03/2023 09:53

Is the next step going to be someone claiming that if only we could be “sex positive” about rape it would solve so many problems?

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 08/03/2023 09:53

IcakethereforeIam · 08/03/2023 09:45

Yeah, I accept that

but I like to start from a position of people being able to choose to be decent

given that plenty don’t, exercising your kink for non consensual sex should also be very, very illegal

and certainly musings of this kind should not be presented uncritically on the BBC

Ourladycheesusedatum · 08/03/2023 09:54

Nope, pretty sure we cant consent to this. No one can surely. Once you're unconscious then any consent you gave is null and void.

And can you imagine making them stick to whatever you "consented" to.
That would require an onlooker or camera running, neither of which should happen.

Jesus and an actual woman said this? My God she needs some serious help.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 08/03/2023 09:56

Sex I get to sleep through sounds like the best kind to me.

(Kidding!!)

SinisterBumFacedCat · 08/03/2023 09:59

I’m not a therapist, let alone a “sex positive” one, but even I can guess that an unconscious man can’t maintain an erection.

Oh wait she just wants women to be drugging themselves unconscious to be used and abused and violated. Right, yeah.
What a time to be alive.

Kucinghitam · 08/03/2023 10:01

What the actual fuuuuuuuuuck?

Once again, I find that I'm delighted to not be on The Right Side of Sex-Posi Pro-Sex-'Work' Kink-Posi Progressive Inclusive Acceptance-Without-Exception History.

This.

There are always going to be wackos advocating on behalf of some men's endless, and totally illegal, perversions, but to give it even a hint of legitimacy by hosting a 'discussion' on it?

They should be ashamed. And the whole country should be asking which person, specifically, signed off on it.

Looking at their website, pronouns are listed as they/he

MrsOvertonsWindow · 08/03/2023 10:04

Queer theory innit? Break down what ever boundaries are there & accept any and all kinks, no matter how harmful or debasing.

Shame she was given any air time but given the BBC's record, not surprised.

EsmaCannonball · 08/03/2023 10:06

So this person thinks -

  • Drugging some unsuspecting and non-consenting woman isn't the entire point for the kind of men who get off on this.
  • Someone who is drugged and unconscious can consent to whatever happens to them.
  • That a prostituted woman who is drugged and unconscious won't be even more at risk from sexually-motivated murderers and violent men.
  • That nasty, prudish sex negativity is responsible for rape.
  • That it's ok for some women (let's face it, rich) to offer up other women (let's face it, poor) as sacrifices to appease male sex offenders.

I don't care if she identifies as non-binary; it will not stop me thinking that women like this are the lowest of the low.

AlisonDonut · 08/03/2023 10:07

So not one person in the chain of 'research - prescreening - interview - film - direct - retake - edit - review - publish' thought 'hang on a minute...what are we saying here'?

rabbitwoman · 08/03/2023 10:08

But surely the main element of this sexual behaviour is that it is non consenting.

Bill Cosby could have had consenting sex with a host of women - he was rich, well connected, he could even have had sex with his wife, I guess.....

But he didn't want permission. He wanted to be able to take away something from these women, against their will, against their knowledge.

I am amazed that these 'sex positive' people have no conception that some sexual tastes can only be satisfied by violating other people.

Ah, well that might explain it.

HashtagShitShop · 08/03/2023 10:12

So she "agrees to be drugged." and gives her consent after agreeing to ABC. Then she wakes up and has injuries from him having rough a and c with her but "she did agree to it!"

Or she wakes up and comes to realise instead of ABC he did XYZ. But has no 'proof' despite being able to feel the after effects of what happened. And when telling authorities he says ".... She did agree though..."

It she wakes up and finds there's a different man with her or more than the one she agreed to? "she did agree....."

Or doesn't wake up at all? Either from he body reacting to the drugs or what the man did during the time she's awake? "she did agree to be drugged though...."

What a time to be alive with people like this "therapist" thinking that it's even remotely an idea!

Saschka · 08/03/2023 10:13

There’s also the small matter of safe sedation. If you are sedated to the point of unconsciousness there is a high chance of stopping breathing or obstructing your airway, which is why we have anaesthetists present when you have an anaesthetic, and a second person present to monitor the airway for conscious sedation procedures.

But no, let’s just drug prostitutes with no safeguards whatsoever, and if they die during sex, well they consented and it’s just some slut so who cares?

JustStopOilyPoshKids · 08/03/2023 10:13

"Consensually unconscious" Sheeshh the mental gymnastics to justify the unjustifiable.

I spent years going down the rabbit hole of kink/ fetish some years back. It intrigued me how all manner of dubious shit that would elsewhere be regarded as abuse could be handwaved through with the magic bullet of "consent"

Even though the vast majority of women in the "community" were traumatised/ damaged.
I wondered if it was possible for a woman to carve her own niche within that. All the empowerment guff. Pffffffff!

Palmfrond · 08/03/2023 10:15

Putting the rapist back in therapist.

Top marks!
