www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/03/04/government-considering-urgent-review-inappropriate-sex-education/

"Rishi Sunak is considering launching an urgent review of “age-inappropriate” sex education materialss_ in schools, The Telegraph understands.
The Prime Minister has told multiple colleagues that he is alarmed about the content of Relationship and Sex Educationn_ (RSE) lessons taught in classrooms across the country.
This week, he was presented with a dossier of evidence by MPs showing that “unsuitably sexually explicit” teaching resources and lessons presenting gender fluidity as fact have been prepared for children.
The evidence, collated by the New Social Covenant Unit think tank, includes case studies of primary school children as young as nine being taught about masturbation. In other instances, the think tank found school children had been “indoctrinated” with contested gender ideology theories that could make them question whether they have been born in the wrong body.
Miriam Cates, the Conservative MP for Pennistone and Stockbridge, delivered the 130-page report to the Prime Minister on Wednesday and has urged him to consider a “public inquiry”.
“It’s becoming more and more clear how inappropriate materials are,” she told The Telegraph. “This is a very widespread problem.”
She said that the teaching of trans identification in schools has become increasingly common and could be contributing to a rise in the number of children seeking medical intervention, including puberty blockers and hormone treatment.
The report argues that a moratorium on aspects of RSE teaching may be necessary to “halt a widespread culture of safeguarding failure”. It raises concerns about the influence of third-party providers on RSE in schools."

I wonder if they aren't testing the water, with the "considering" business. Either that or they are looking for people to start coming forward with more evidence.

He needs a new Secretary of State for Education.

Miriam Cates would be good.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 05/03/2023 00:49

The comments under that article mirror what's being said on here. Don't consider it, bloody get on with it! Long overdue for these porn soaked queer theory activist groups to be kicked out of schools permanently.

Without delay.

You will all have seen the AIBU thread about new born foals now being brushed at DQSH functions to begin their gender ideology and Queering of boundaries even earlier than the small children in the normal DQSHs. These have seen a 300% increase according to The Times today.

Interesting. On a side note, "considering" and "urgent" kind of cancel each other out, don't they?

Yep.

I have had a promotional sub for the last six months and bought a year on Friday for £49, so £4 a month. Much cheaper than the Times (though I have to keep that because of Janice!)

It raises concerns about the influence of third-party providers on RSE in schools.

I have long thought that anyone who wants to spend their time talking to children about sex should be checked very very closely. Not because it automatically makes them a wrong un - it could be that they have a strong desire to protect children from exploitation - but because it's exactly the sort of job that a wrong un would want to have.

Are there any specific examples of inappropriate content in that article? I teach primary and our RSE lessons have all been age-appropriate as far as I can see. I’d be really interested to see what sort of lessons we’re talking about. It’s hard to form an opinion on whether this investigation is necessary or not without knowing what’s being taught elsewhere (or indeed if my lessons are judged as inappropriate by others).

Well it's about fucking time.

Yes. I ❤️ Miriam Cates. Thank you, Miriam, if you’re here!

Safe Schools Alliance have lots of examples on their website and in their blogs that are searchable.

@VashtaNerada it's good to hear from a real teacher!
Does your school use any 3rd party materials? Any Twinkle?
Also, have none of the dodgy gender phrases managed to sneak into your school's materials? Such as "Everyone has a gender identity". Our council teaches this as 'fact', which is so disturbing, as well as being incorrect.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 05/03/2023 09:06

Here's just one of the Transgender Trend articles about how children are being gaslit by the teaching of gender ideology in schools:

www.transgendertrend.com/teaching-gender-ideology-schools/

And here's the Safe Schools Alliance response to Peter Tatchell's comments about SRE. Tatchell (who openly condones 9 year olds having sex with adults) has set up his own organisation to go into schools and teach SRE. He promotes compulsory sex ed lessons that focus on teaching children in mixed sex classrooms how to give and receive sexual pleasure.

Good. Get it done Rishi, and get Suella involved if possible, she speaks sense on this, as does Kemi.

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 10:33

An inquiry needs to happen NOW. Addressing harm to children should be the government's number one priority.

VashtaNerada · 05/03/2023 10:47

@oldwomanwhoruns All our lessons are created internally by the subject lead. I’ve not taught anything related to gender identity, just stuff about challenging gender stereotypes and ‘all families are different’ etc.

This needs to be done.

Gender identity is taught as fact in my DD's primary school.

Children are also taught that humans can change sex.

The school has engaged with No Outsiders (huge interest in trans ideology and Queer Theory) and Diversity Role Models (promoted "love has not age limit" to primary school children and descriptions of children preforming oral sex on other children, to secondary age pupils.).

The school sees no problems with using these external providers.

creekingmillenial · 05/03/2023 19:25

Does anyone have the tech skills to make an website where inappropriate teaching/curriculum can be reported anonymously? Unfortunately really dangerous stuff is widespread in primary schools and well as secondary.

Like “Everyone is Invited”? That is a good idea though I don’t know how.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 05/03/2023 19:40

Miriam Cates MP has been working on this and has just submitted a report. She talks about a torrent of concerns from parents about what's happening in schools. I'm sure you can contact her or Safe Schools Alliance or Transgender Trend and report concerns @creekingmillenial.

sawdustformypony · 05/03/2023 20:30

Give the topic I particularly enjoyed the fact the telegraph misspelt the name Peniston.

Vebrithien · 06/03/2023 15:48

Other than in the press, is there anywhere else we can look to find out the progress on this?

carriedout · 06/03/2023 15:53

Yes, the culture wars rumble on. They'll 'urgently' consider doing fuck all about this, whilst completely ignoring issues around incel culture, sexual harassment/assault in schools etc.

Wish this bullshitting government would fuck off.

They can bollock on that they 'know what a woman is' - a second class citizen in their opinion.

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 06/03/2023 16:33

@Vebrithien I’ve been following your threads. Is it possible Miriam Cates would be interested or get involved? I’ve no idea if she can as she’s not your MP but it sounds like she’s collecting evidence from cases like yours
