However, listening to the recording, it's clear that the councillor tries very hard to get it right, but struggles with the ensuing grammatical errors it forces him to make.

The poor man is trying to hard to get it right, but keeps slipping up. Even at the very end he says he'll apolgise to HIM when he catches up later. The hoops people are expected to jump through.......

Christ. I mean... aren't there more serious issues to be discussed in Newham such as poverty, health inequality, safeguarding, environmental issues..

Grammatically speaking, for a they/them, shouldn't the title be Newham Green Party leader storm out of council meeting?

It's not "discriminatory" ffs. They appear to have been attempting to correct themselves having been unaware of the demands from this person. And why would anyone know without being specifically informed?! I'd be furious if they were my representative that they were letting a minor issue of naming/reference get in the way of actually representing.
