Why aren't more woman (and men) worried about

trans women and men self identifying part time or full time as trans women and this:

Why do women have to move over for men who identify as women? Why are women's concerns thrown to the side to ensure the concerns of men who identify as woman are concerned first?

Why aren't more women (and men) worried that woman are being told to step aside to consider men that want to be or identify as women as more important?

The @ thing only works if you use a specific MN username like LilyMumsnet or whatever.

WifeMotherWorker · 22/02/2023 22:49

This ideology is being seriously questioned on Twitter and the whole topic is getting some serious traction and attention. Thank god for Elon Musk, he has allowed far more freedom of speech on there than any other social media platform. So for everyone here that is interested in this issue get yourselves over to Twitter and join the female revolution!

But I agree with you - I have no respect for anyone who thinks TWAW or I pity their ignorance and naivety.

This is the one of main chat forum places you will find this view. Outside Tis different

Oh the thread appears to have been moved.

Maybe Mumsnet should change its name to PeopleWhoBirthNet.

It seems so.

There are some "monitors" who religiously report any threads on this topic and demand a move to FWR. For some reason, MNHQ acquiesce to these demands every time. Despite there being no list of banned topics for AIBU or Chat, and plenty of other threads that could go into other topics get posted there instead.

Apparently this is not so and I am thinking 'it's a conspiracy theory against me' or 'it's all about me' and 'no-one is interested'.... oh dear, fortunately I don't worry about being abused by other posters and take their silly comments on the chin.

I guess the proof is in the pudding the thread was reported and moved VERY QUICKLY

Of course it's true. There are always posters who jump on threads almost immediately to complain that it's in the "wrong" place and then, moved immediately. The only ones I see that don't get moved straightaway are the ones where the thread title isn't immediately clear what the posts are about. Those can take a bit of time before they're noticed.

You weren't being abused.

You made an incorrect assertion that all trans / Sex & Gender related posts get moved to this forum, suggested MN had a secret blacklist of topics, and I provided you with links to two threads on trans-related subjects which were posted in AIBU today alone and which are still there. They are both in fact still on the first page! So your entire premise is false.

I know MN do move threads - I can see they moved this one and you've decided to make out you're very hard done by because of it - but to state there is a ban on certain topics in certain forums just isn't true.

I'll post the links again if you really need them.

Quite lucky they aren’t just deleted

My local Green Party knocked on my door last week. I told them I couldn’t vote for a party that thought TWAW. He told me that the rate of trans murders was growing faster than the rate of murdered women. Rate being the important word. I chased him off my doorstep.

So he was referring to the recent knife murder of a trans teenager? No murders of trans people in the UK for the previous 3 years I think. From zero to 1. Difficult to beat that "rate".
Looks very different when you compare the numbers of murdered people, doesn't it?

Rainbowshit · 22/02/2023 23:55

I'm very very worried about all of this. I'm in Scotland and so disappointed in our parliament and their lack of care for females.

We said self ID would let the predators in. We were told our concerns were invalid. Now look at what's happened.

Dreamingofasandybeach · 23/02/2023 00:03

Alot of us are extremely worried but scared to speak up.. (I am at least) People are losing their jobs and friends just for speaking common sense. I'm praying it will get better and people will begin to see sense but for now they've got too much power over women who try to speak up. It's truly frightening.

Ndd135632 · 23/02/2023 01:07

Sounds like you just peaked OP. Welcome to the top of the mountain. More are clambering their way up behind you. Once you are at the top it all becomes crystal clear and you can’t not see it anymore.

RonSwansonn · 23/02/2023 21:13

I can see why it was moved. It does not belong in AIBU, and MNHQ clearly agrees.

dcbc1234 · 23/02/2023 21:29

It is not just women we need to be worried about as Graham Linehan so succinctly puts it, he has been fighting against gender identity ideology and its potentially pernicious effect on: (1) women’s hard-won rights and spaces; (2) the rights of lesbians and gay men to be same-sex attracted; and (3) vulnerable children, who are being unnecessarily medicalised and pushed into irreversible surgeries.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 23/02/2023 21:33

Welcome. The mainstream media has really not covered this until recently and this extremist ideology has been allowed to flourish with the support of government organisations. Why is a good question to ask? And PIE is also the starting place. DENTONS is the method used.

Because most of us realise that measures are in place (generally!) To ensure safety and most of us aren't transphobic and aim to en inclusive

It's not just about safety, it is also about privacy, dignity and comfort or don't you believe women deserve that?

Your 'inclusiveness' excludes many women from those spaces and services which they should be able to access freely and without fear or concern. Does it make you proud that you don't give a flying fuck for those women in your desperation to prioritise males?

Women should not have to justify or explain why they do not wish to share spaces with any male, the fact they do shows just how little is thought of women and just how sexist and misogynist this all is.

Happylittlechicken · 24/02/2023 04:19

@maddy68 why do you believe a males feeding of comfort should take priority over a woman’s feeling of comfort and dignity?

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 24/02/2023 06:47

We don’t go to local Pret A Manger or Primark and I’m not going to let my daughter apply to STEM courses at Manchester University because their toilets and changing rooms aren’t safe for women.
