Yikes.

I guess there's more disquiet about this stuff in Canada than is reported.

Show us the actual evidence, a proper peer-reviewed publication with accessible data sets. Don't just throw buzz words around, show us that evidence you speak of.

CorvusPurpureus · 17/02/2023 21:51

Anyway, so evidence of more than 2 sexes, please?

You seem to be having trouble finding it. Weird.

As if you would accept a single one of them 🤣 I could post 100 articles now and you would refute them all 😂

Helleofabore · 17/02/2023 21:51

suggestionsplease1 · 17/02/2023 21:48

The evidence is out there for the taking.

But Covid deniers will never believe Covid exists..etc etc

So post it.

You falling into false comparisons of ‘covid deniers’ is not helping you at all.

This is a topic that has been studied for decades. With nothing. nothing to offer.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 17/02/2023 21:51

Given the poor history of research into heart health of women, it suggests that we could do with a lot more binary understanding, and a lot less trying to mush women's needs into hiding under a big shiny gender lid

absolutely

and while im here i am 99% positive that if i ask on here for proof that sex is binary i will be inundated with evidence and links

if i ask for proof that sex is NOT binary however….

In addition, the Covid deniers…sentence is a non sequitur.

What in the name of God are you trying to say, @suggestionsplease1 ?

Well if they prove the existence of a third gamete and its role in reproduction then it's going to be groundbreaking. So just post one?

Do you understand what the words binary and continuum actually mean?

A continuum can never be binary by simple definition.

A binary variable can literally hold only one of two disjoint values whereas a continuum is an uncountable set.

What are the variables on the axis for this continuum?

Which females are more female than others?

Who decides this? Is there an arbitration board? Where is this published?

Or is it as Claire Ainsworth tweeted, sex is binary and there are many variations of bodies within those two categories of bodies.

On the contrary, we would read each and every one.

And if they cannot stand up to scrutiny, why is that? Why lie about the fact this is a very niche belief and not supported by the majority as you want to portray?

And there is no evidence. At all.

Just unsupported theories.

I dont like the use of this ‘we’ word

Rainbowshit · 17/02/2023 22:03

And even if you do manage to prove to us that sex isn't binary what the hell would that have to do with teaching kids that humans can choose their sex?

Yeah. Ok rufus, I exaggerated. Some of us? A few of us?

Probably more than a few though.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 17/02/2023 22:08

More than a few id wager 😀

i Do you also feel that we should cancel Black history month?

No day or month has to be cancelled - except Shove Queer Theory On Kids Day.

That makes it sound like you are only including humans capable of reproduction within your parameters? Why would you do this?

Igneococcus · 17/02/2023 22:12

How do you get more than two sexes with only two different sex chromosomes? And if there are more than two sex chromosomes how have we managed to overlook them given that we have sequenced a gazillion humans by now? And why is nobody ever getting their 23andme results back and are being told they have other than X and Y chromosomes.

Igneococcus · 17/02/2023 22:14

That makes it sound like you are only including humans capable of reproduction within your parameters? Why would you do this?

Are you saying infertile people are a different sex?

That poster can only accurately refer to reproducing humans with the 'logic' they are applying - the onus is on them to provide to provide a definition and a logic that is applicable to every human being.

Unless they want to exclude some human beings?

Rainbowshit · 17/02/2023 22:19

Anne Fausto Sterling. 🙈 Even she has rowed back from the idea there are more than two sexes and said that it was a joke.

Love that the first one is Fausto sterling

twitter.com/fausto_sterling/status/1229806463608074240?s=46&t=HSUOP923We9t203HxYgzuQ

Fausto-sterling also said those with DSDs are around 1.7% because she included people who do not have a DSD.

I am glad you posted this as it shows just how much you trust people who have posed theories, and even admitted they were writing ‘tongue in cheek’ papers.

Rainbowshit · 17/02/2023 22:22

The second article talks about male and female brains and doesn't claim that sex is not binary.

The third is discussing gender, not sex, and doesn't claim that sex is not binary.

Amusingly we are talking about humans here in this thread.

Unless you send your clownfish to school. I know it is Canada but even they haven't gone that far. Yet.

Which of your links most succinctly details what the third gamete is. And its role in human reproduction? Save me some time.
