Queensland self-ID Bill is loopier than Scotland

Whilst the Scottish gender self-ID legislation founders, here in Queensland (AUS) the Labor state government is ploughing ahead with a Bill that is even more insane. www.parliament.qld.gov.au/Work-of-Committees/Committees/Committee-Details?cid=170&id=4219
This Bill will allow:

  • change of "sex" on birth certificate each year, up to 3 times
  • "sex" is not binary of course, and you can be non-binary, genderqueer, agender, or ANYTHING YOU LIKE, as long as it is not obscene and you can show that it is in use....so, gendermaverick, illusoboy, omnigender are all fine. To be listed as "sex" for God's sake.
  • a "developmentally informed" practitioner, who could be your child's physiotherapist or school guidance counsellor, can help a 12 year old go to court to change their name and sex on their birth certificate, against parental approval.
  • organisations working with children will no longer have any exemption from anti-discrimination law. Fetishists can queue up to be scout leaders and wear their prosthetic breasts to school.
It becomes interesting when it intersects with other laws. Strip searching in prisons needs two guards of the same sex as the prisoner. If the prisoner is illusoboy sex, this could be a challenge.

Spare a thought for us and please help publicise. The media has mostly not noted this impending law.

I know it's been said before but it really is a cultural revolution, isn't it?

They are training kids to belive in this new religion, enacting legislation that will break up dissenting families and in the long-term? I'm frightened to think of the consequences of cohorts of young people who were fed this garbage as kids.

Yes a whole generation is being brainwashed in schools and on social media to believe you cm change sex. And that girls can compete at sports with boys, they just need to 'try harder.' It's horrifying.

MermaidMummy06 · 05/03/2023 06:49

Damn. QLD'er who thinks they keep up with the news and I'd no idea. I live in probably the most conservative city in the state and it won't go down well here at all.

I've no issues with supporting people to be who they are, genuinely. I have an issue with the confusion being pumped into kids' heads so they're confused about who they are.

It's already happening in other places, though. I complained about older boys (some in her class at school) using the girls' open change rooms at their swim school instead of the private room or open or boys change rooms against policy.. and... crickets. Apparently my DD is no longer allowed to undress without being ogled because of equality. It's difficult to teach her safety when she has no right to it. Sadly she pays the price as I'm pulling her out as soon as she's finished her next level instead of going further. So, again, girls pay the price.

What happens with crime statistics? They going to be using all the new invented genders?

People that normally claim that they, "don't deny the reality of biological sex", think it's so important to falsify their biological sex for some reason. They can only be "authentic" by falsifying official documents.

It is an ideology that most sane people think is bonkers. Everyone needs to ask why there is a move to take away women’s rights and promote this belief. It’s like how Nazi Germany took away Jewish peoples rights by making laws and demonising them by using propaganda against them and look what happened there. Different group of people but same playbook.

That's what I keep wondering about too. Why is this happening all over the world at exactly the same time? What's the purpose? Especially, given the vast majority of people do not support or agree with this ideology but it's still being pushed through anyway.

I’ve just received an Alumni newsletter email from my old University (in Queensland).

”Author talk with Sophie Labelle” March 13 (In person event)

“Sophie Labelle is a neurodivergent trans cartoonist and novelist, she will speak about her art and activism, comic-making, community building and empowerment through art, followed by a Q&A and book signing.”

This is a real-time reflection of how captured Queensland/Australia is…..

MarinaRhinella · 13/03/2023 12:07

They neglect to say that Sophie Labelle is a nappy fetishist. That would get the punters in.

We managed to keep Sophie Labelle out of a few cities in the UK, hopefully you can do that in Queensland.

Does it really have to be some nefarious agenda? I would suggest that progressives are just moving on to something new after their victories with gay marriage etc.

They always have to be pushing some new agenda to be "progressives". I think a lot of the political left has probably just gone along with it, because they want to be on the side of the "good guys" rather than those conservative bigots that don't even want drag queens reading to kids.

So most of them probably don't really believe "TWAW" but at this point it's a creed that is necessary for group membership.

And I imagine it's persuasive to many, that, "discrimination is bad", "why would you tolerate discrimination towards trans people?", "don't you want to be on the right side of history?".

Maybe there are some individuals with a nefarious agenda, but I doubt that could explain most of the political left going along with it and really giving it the power that it has.

PriOn1 · 13/03/2023 17:36

”Does it really have to be some nefarious agenda?”

I too find it beyond understanding that it’s gone so far and in such an extreme form. I don’t think it has occurred spontaneously. I think there has been an enormous amount of manouevring going on under the radar.

Organizations have been quietly infiltrated at various levels, in particular the youth branches of political parties. At the same time the rhetoric that young people are the future and must be listened to (as opposed to the respect for older people with life experience that used to be more common) is being pushed to its limits.

Women’s organizations have been targeted, often with supporters inserted in key positions (think Wadhwa in Scotland). As they were moved in, there was no mention of the primacy of trans rights. That was only declared once they were safely in situ.

There have been various threads about it. It has been managed somewhat like a hostile business coup, where the business being overtaken is unaware of their vulnerability until the last minute. It would not be particularly surprising for this technique to be employed as it is suggested that various super-rich men from the US, who have a desire to impose themselves on women and use their spaces, are behind a lot of it.

The Denton’s document didn’t appear out of thin air. I think they got lucky with the support from progressives, but the progressives are not running the show.

mach2 · 13/03/2023 19:03

I view the trans ideology push as one front on a broad cultural war. The wingnut commentators have, I believe, a point about cultural Marxism.

I don't want the wingnuts in charge but I don't think they're completely off-base when they say that it's an assault on the foundations of western society.

MarinaRhinella · 20/03/2023 21:07

”Does it really have to be some nefarious agenda?”
Well at some levels it is.
There are probably several agendas or motivations.

  1. Formerly LGB groups like Stonewall in the UK and ACON in Australia just wanting to stay employed. They were facing loss of income and reason to exist after same-sex marriage. A new manufactured cause.
  2. Fetishes. Pedophiles, nappy fetishists, and your standard perverts are working to break down women's barriers and sexualise children. These people have powerful and obsessive motivations to "queer" society and make ready access to their sexual prey.
  3. Not sure I can say the word on Mumsnet - men who are sexually aroused by the thought of themselves as a woman, wanting to move their cross-dressing hobby into a respectable lifestyle. Big money donors.
  4. "Social justice" movement. This has really gone off the rails. Black and white thinking, spewing hate and intolerance for anyone they see as intolerant.
  5. Poorly informed do-gooders wanting to just be "nice" and feel good about themselves.

  1. Drug companies that produce the puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
FrancescaContini · 21/03/2023 08:43

Agree with @MarinaRhinella particularly on the first point: “manufactured cause”.

damn!
Much has been made about trans cartoonist Sophie Labelle 'coming out' as an adult baby, and it emerging that Sophie converts pictures of young children into sexual drawings. But less well known is that Sophie worked as a primary school teacher and ran a 'gender camp' for children
