Queensland self-ID Bill is loopier than Scotland

Whilst the Scottish gender self-ID legislation founders, here in Queensland (AUS) the Labor state government is ploughing ahead with a Bill that is even more insane. www.parliament.qld.gov.au/Work-of-Committees/Committees/Committee-Details?cid=170&id=4219
This Bill will allow:

  • change of "sex" on birth certificate each year, up to 3 times
  • "sex" is not binary of course, and you can be non-binary, genderqueer, agender, or ANYTHING YOU LIKE, as long as it is not obscene and you can show that it is in use....so, gendermaverick, illusoboy, omnigender are all fine. To be listed as "sex" for God's sake.
  • a "developmentally informed" practitioner, who could be your child's physiotherapist or school guidance counsellor, can help a 12 year old go to court to change their name and sex on their birth certificate, against parental approval.
  • organisations working with children will no longer have any exemption from anti-discrimination law. Fetishists can queue up to be scout leaders and wear their prosthetic breasts to school.
It becomes interesting when it intersects with other laws. Strip searching in prisons needs two guards of the same sex as the prisoner. If the prisoner is illusoboy sex, this could be a challenge.

Spare a thought for us and please help publicise. The media has mostly not noted this impending law.

That last point is horrifying. Queer theory really is just about getting access to children isn't it?

No boundaries. ‘No one is allowed to say no to me.’

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 05/02/2023 22:29

How is this not a pisstaking comedy sketch?

If you can just make up any old shit 3 times a year, why don’t they make it an optional extra, rather than a substitution for sex?

MarinaRhinella · 05/02/2023 23:08

Sorry for confusion. It is only once a year, that you can change sex. But to a maximum of three times. Just make sure you don't get stuck as some unfortunate sex on the third attempt.

Oh, well, that's much better!

I just ughhhhhh.

They are Muppets. Bloody Muppets!

That’s horrifying and I live in QLD! I had no idea!

Eeeek! Same!!

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 06/02/2023 00:27

It is not spoken about here.

I stumbled on the Education Queensland (Queensland Government) Trans Guidance for Primary State Schools and it is horrifying.

  • Any school student can declare themselves transgender, and immediately are permitted to use the opposite sex facilities.
  • Anyone showing any concern/hesitation/disbelief is to be condemned.
  • The Guidance mentions several times that anyone dissenting (ie not using preferred pronouns/affirming/going along with males in female toilets/change rooms/etc) will be referred to the AntiDiscrimination Commission, and charged.
  • School staff are expected to affirm any child who decides they are trans, even if the parents do not know/disagree (as affirmation at school may “educate” any dissenting parent).
  • Parents who are “anti-trans” and refuse to affirm are to be referred to the Anti-Discrimination Commission/authorities.

The Local Council is similarly captured, with absolute support for DQSH, etc.

A young male campaigner against DQSH was driven to suicide seemingly by activists and allies targeting him.

There are trans-identifying male prisoners in female jails/prison.

All levels are captured and no one generally in the community seems to know the full extent of just how terrifying it is.

GoodOldJK · 06/02/2023 00:50

I’m in Queensland too. I had no idea. Horrifying.

Kellie Jay Keen is going to Aus soon, isn't she?
Will she be visiting QLand on her tour?

I’m not sure where she will be visiting but I will be out to support her if it is anywhere near me.

She has updated her shopfront and a limited selection of Adult Human Female products are now available in Australia. I shall be ordering!

BananaBender · 06/02/2023 04:24

Another Qlder here. I’d vaguely read some stuff about this but didn’t realise that they were actually getting on with changing the law.

Does Annastacia want to get voted out? The LNP sucks but with the youth crime outbreak Labor might get a hard time at the next election.

For the person who asked if we have a second tier of government in this state - no we don’t. That would be the Senate or upper house and it was abolished in Qld years ago. We still have two tiers at the federal level.

Tania Marshall might be worth contacting on Twitter. Pretty sure she lives in Queensland.

My 13 year old DD has just started high school and I was curious about what the rules are if there’s a trans girl at school wanting to access the girls toilets. Turns out that they can access them with no limitations and parents and students can’t object. That’s bullshit. I know my DD would be likely to ask why they’re in there and point out that they’re a boy. That or be very wary of using the toilets. She’s well aware that men and boys can be a massive safety risk to women and girls.

It is the same playbook bent plays out under a cloak of silence.

JacquelinePot · 06/02/2023 08:09

I know it's been said before but it really is a cultural revolution, isn't it?

They are training kids to belive in this new religion, enacting legislation that will break up dissenting families and in the long-term? I'm frightened to think of the consequences of cohorts of young people who were fed this garbage as kids.

MarinaRhinella · 06/02/2023 09:05

For those asking, yes Kellie-Jay Keen is going to Brisbane on her tour. I hope that Qld police are helpful like Glasgow police.

> Grace Grace who is the education minister apparently has a trans-ID kid. This may explain a lot

Honestly it feels like this part of government policy is being dictated by the blue-haired teenage children of Labor Party politicians.

I had no idea about her child. Did some googling and it appears that her daughter identifies as non-binary. Daughter is about 28 or 29 years old.

What’s particularly strange is that they adopted her at 2 months old. There’s hardly any babies available for adoption in Australia. Maybe they adopted her from overseas but that’s nearly impossible too unless you have bucket loads of money.

Education Minister but she went to an all girls religious private school and she sent her child to a private Catholic primary school. Nice one. So she knows bugger all about state schools.

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 06/02/2023 10:37

I didn’t know about Grace Grace’s child. It explains a hell of a lot.

Queensland has been drinking a lot of KoolAid lately.

💐for those of you who live there.

TangledWebOfDeception · 06/02/2023 10:50

Now is the time to smack that shit down. They can't jail you all.

BananaBender · 06/02/2023 10:57

Remember when the new high school in Fortitude Valley was going to have gender neutral toilets and Annastacia smacked that down? I guess that Grace Grace was behind the gender neutral toilets. That was 3 years ago.

Did you say Australia's Stonewall is ACON?

Appropriate. The whole Stonewall trans script is a massive con indeed.

May Australia get peaked pretty pronto to stop a lot of damage down the line.

These men and their handmaidens are sneaking silently under the radar to do their work.

mach2 · 06/02/2023 18:54

Boys can't be kept out of female sleeping quarters on school trips. I'm sure there will be no problems at all.

NitroNine · 06/02/2023 20:09

@BananaBender
They were on the waiting list to adopt a baby for almost 10 years before they were matched with their daughter - so it was unusual, but within the standard range of unusual that = adopting a baby in QLD in the 1990s.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 07/02/2023 21:33

Straight from the playbook.

StClare101 · 05/03/2023 04:01

Adopting a baby in QLD in the 90’s was possible. My family looked after (fostered) babies during the decision period for mothers and then while the authorities contacted the potential parents and made an offer. Most of those who were lucky enough to adopt had waited 8-12 years. Sometimes it was less, based on the ethnicity of the baby (they tried to match). We personally looked after 14 newborns over a 12 year period so it happened. They were generally around 6-8 weeks at the date of handover, due to the birth mother getting four weeks at the time plus they wouldn’t even look at the waitlist until the birth mother had signed away her rights.

That to one side, the problem with all these policies is that they are snuck in, and it takes a male bodied student starting to use girls toilets/dorms etc. for people to notice. I don’t believe the general population would support this, if they knew.

Oh Jesus! We were always the most bloody conservative. This (almost) makes me miss the bad old days!
