I'll be very interested to see how Fiona Bruce handles this.

An unfettered India is likely to peak the nation.

PoliticalFootball · 02/02/2023 13:59

A question framed as follows would be interesting:

Fiona, pen in hand:

"Now India you appear to be of the belief that not only are transwomen women but in certain instances transgender women can be more women than what we'll call, for the avoidance of confusion, women who were born women?"

India: Oh don't be ridiculous Fiona, anyone with a sense of humour knows that was a jokey, throwaway comment...

Fiona: but what were you implying by your comment - Fiona quotes exact Twitter posting

And then for good measure she could ask India whether they consider themselves a cervix-haver?

But I hope it doesn't turn into the India Willoughby show because that would be an awful insult to the people of Scotland.

I am SO disappointed they didn't get Rhona Hotchkiss on. She would have been brilliant.

But QT doesn't usually allow guests to speak over each other, which seems to be the tactic used by IW and other TW who dislike the truth being spoken in their presence.

Didn't India 'I'm a woman because my passport says so' Willoughby apologise on twitter after the GMB segment when India couldn't talk over the top of India's opponent and therefore failed to squash the opposition?

If IW does try the usual, it will be obvious to viewers that IW displays somewhat male behaviour when challenged

@MargaritaPie JKR doesn't bully. Have you seen the death threats from TRA towards JKR.

picklemewalnuts · 02/02/2023 14:25

I think Margarita just pops up to let us reaffirm our admiration of JKR. All those casual slanders we get to refute. It's fab.

I can't take India Willoughby seriously. Visions of them prancing around the Big Brother bedroom rubbing cream into their naked breasts in front of everyone have put India in the 'absolute tool' box forever.

Helleofabore · 02/02/2023 14:38

I believe Willoughby may be on a high after what I have read about last nights effort.

A show i24 (was it from Israel?) had Kate Coleman on with Willoughby. Apparently Willoughby talked over Kate uninterested. And it seems the host thought it appropriate to mention he thought “To discriminate against transgender individuals is no better than being a Nazi”. And supposedly it was just a passing remark.

I believe Willoughby was on usual form after.

@RubyTrees thought Ella Whelan was a koch funded Farage lover ?

HRTQueen · 02/02/2023 15:53

Questions shall be very carefully chosen

I remember when Paris Lees was on QT a few years ago there was no challenge to the trans women are women narrative or concerns real women have over female only spaces

it was a platform to inform the public that womens concerns can be ignored if instigated by a male

Appalonia · 02/02/2023 15:57

Twitter will be fun tonight!

Every time I see India now I recall a particular Mr Menno video quoting the title of an E M Forster novel... If you know you know.

A Womb With A View- ghost written by India's cervix?

Dang, I thought it would be A Passage to India. I was going to say, I have no interest in seeing India's passage, thank you.

This is the same person that said she was more of a woman that JKR, I guess he/she really doesn't know much about biology and XX XY chromosomes. Has anyone ever told India that you cannot change your biological sex?

India thinks that more than 7 years of oestrogen has changed all their bodily cells from XY to XX. The utter dolt.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 02/02/2023 16:07

Stasiland · 02/02/2023 15:47

Even if she is, she knows the difference between men and women, and is not afraid to say it.

I think she's a Libertarian, anyway, everyone at Spiked is. Very good person to talk about the authoritarian cultural revolution that is gender ideology.

FOJN · 02/02/2023 16:28

thought Ella Whelan was a koch funded Farage lover ?

This is a direct quote from EW:

"I’m going to vote for the Brexit party and I tell you that was a hard decision for me to make as someone on the left. Because I am ashamed and appalled by the fact that the left has so exited this discussion… eurosceptisim on the left… was a central tenet of left-wing viewpoints."

I think it's this statement which brings people to that conclusion but I don't think it's that clear cut. The left today bears no relation to the left of 20 years ago, many of us who would have described ourselves as left of center find we don't have anyone we could happily vote for.

nilsmousehammer · 02/02/2023 16:31

Considering this Twitter user has celebrated their blatant disrespect for women's boundaries, equality of access and inclusion, and their trampling of said boundaries by ignoring gender neutral facilities and pointedly using female only facilities for their own satisfaction with no care for the impact?

I would hope they do not try to say that they are a different kind of male from the other kinds of males who don't care about female boundaries. Because the argument would be essentially it's ok to do this to females so long as you don't actually physically harm them and get successfully convicted for it.

A lot of shouting about a cervix does nothing to change male entitlement and behaviour.

Stasiland · 02/02/2023 16:43

@FOJN wasn't Corbyn eurosceptic and often described as a bit of labour old guard ?

Rightly or wrongly the left of 20 years ago really doesn't win elections. Presumably you mean John Smith/Neil Kinnock rather than Tony Blair ?

WolverineBlueyy · 02/02/2023 16:45

I believe Willoughby was on usual form after.

I saw that and thought it incredibly telling. Claiming not to know who the 'gc woman' was before, during or after the interview and only wanting to make a mockery of her.

So no preparation, no brief, no detail, no good faith. India just took the booking to shout over the other guest. No desire to listen or debate, just dominate and cry Nazi.

I can't think of any gc feminist who wouldn't have a good hard look into the background of any TRA they might be challenging in a public head-to-head, never mind pretend they're too above it all to remember a name.

MargaritaPie · 02/02/2023 11:34

India is one of the transpeople JK Rowling has been bullying on Twitter I see.

I think you've just done a bit of transphobia there. Firstly "transwoman" is literal violence, it's "trans woman". Although tbf I haven't checked since last week, so I guess that might have changed by now Secondly, you actually said "transperson" which surely implies that you don't believe trans people are even actually people? As in, they've transitioned to being a person from something else....?

Well that was an appalling performance by India. Bullying hectoring style. All noise, no substance.

Yes I am thinking more of John Smith etc but there is no denying that the left of 20 -25 years ago, which some might describe as left light, did win elections. I believe Tony Blair is the most successful party leader the Labour party has ever had, he won 3 elections and was PM for 10 years. Corbyn was too involved with momentum and Tony Blair is right about one thing, the British public don't like extremism, we tend to favour moderates.

I'm not a Blair fan and almost resent him saying so many things I agree with since he left office. I didn't vote for him but I would now just to have someone with a degree of competence in charge.

Oh God, I remember that. And india saying something like I can't feel a thing, it means nothing to me.

Well yeah, because they're not breasts. they're not an erogenous zone, they're not sensitive, and therefore you have no compunction about exposing them. Doh.

And I don't believe India would go on anything where they haven't laid some ground work first, to make sure they're not exposed.

But India has no place to go but doubling and tripling down. And unfortunately, the tide has turned, so, as a career, I'm going to predict it will be relatively short lived.

WarriorN · 02/02/2023 18:29

Is it so they are allowed to discuss lgbtq issues? As Kristin Konstantin said earlier this week? He wasn't allowed to discuss it as there wasn't anyone on for balance.
