I can’t actually believe that real grown up adults are discussing which men should be allowed to go into female prisons (Elizabeth Fry must be rolling in her grave), and that we should trust the prison service and their risk assessments - given they were about to let a rapist into a female prison. I can only think that they don’t think rape is a serious crime.
Everyone in the world knows exactly why prisons are segregated on the basis of sex, EVERYONE knows, unfortunately it doesn’t take much imagination…we just know.
But now people are too scared to say that people can’t change sex for fear of being called a name, as Ella said, it’s an undeniable truth that we can’t actually change sex, no matter how kind we are. And as we know, male offending patterns do not change (even for those that would like to think they can change sex) when they ‘transition’.
I am fed up of adults pandering to this and dancing around language, men are (statistically) a risk to women; and people can’t change sex. My 7 year old knows why her elder brother now has to change in the boys changing room after swimming…she is fucking 7 and she gets it.
Everyone who is not quite there yet, we must start being truthful and not allowing language to be twisted. I’m done with this, people can call me what they want, but if our collective actions stops putting women at risk, we must continue and tell the truth - they think by calling us names we will shamed and shut up, we must not, our shame is nothing compared to what vulnerable women are experiencing in prisons (and other places) all for the sake of being kind.
