Trump has peaked

Surely the gender nutters have to reverse ferret now? Surely?

Well that's interesting. Wonder how long it will be for the "you're discussing Trump - you're all right wing fascists" to arrive. Then we can have some fascinating discussions about supporting male rapists, sex offenders and paedophiles to access victims in women's prisons versus listening to a vile politician speak (mainly) sense about the sterilisation and mutilation of children's bodies and minds.

I suspect immediate results on that. I am sure I have already posted too late!!

We said it first. He is merely agreeing with us. We make that much sense even this idiot gets it.

Absolutely nail on the head there!

I'm not a Trump fan. I cried when he won and celebrated like FUCK when he was out. His motives are not out of a desire for women's rights, that's for fucking sure.

Having said that ... ignore the giant dickhead for a moment, because he's just a tool and prop for a movement.

He's speaking to people he and his team know well how to exploit, and they obviously think this message will land well, that this issue is upsetting or annoying "normal" people too and no longer a niche internet Twitter issue.

That's interesting.

Exactly

ScrollingLeaves · 01/02/2023 16:48

I agree with Trump except with him calling ‘sex’ gender ( he meant sex) and him saying ‘assigned’ at birth.

Agreeing with Trump will be weaponised as the saying goes.

He’ll get some left wing votes because of this. If polls show a large number it might make Labour think a little harder about how to protect children and women from the insidious ideology.

abcdeg · 01/02/2023 16:50

What on earth are you on about? I'm a radical feminist.

I misunderstood your post but is pretty clear what I was 'on about'.

It is isn't it. He's all about the percentage points. This will be the top issue in his polling surveys and elsewhere for him to make such a this stops now speech

Datun · 01/02/2023 16:59

The vast majority of people are appalled at what's happening to children. It's just that he's woken up before many other politicians and he's connected all the dots.

He's absolutely the right person to instantly spot how to get rich on the back of the vulnerable or easily lead and he's just told everyone who's doing it. Pharmaceutical companies, surgeons. And he's told ordinary people that they can sue them.

He knows which way the wind is blowing, and will milk it for all he's worth.

It will be interesting to see how many other politicians grasp it now.

Villagetoraiseachild · 01/02/2023 17:10

Yes, Trump jumping on the most sparkly 'new' band wagon.
Still, it's an ill wind that blows no good.

BlackForestCake · 01/02/2023 17:19

The Democrats have only themselves to blame for offering Trump such an obvious and easy open goal.

They will double down rather than reverse ferret. “It must be good if Trump is against it.”

They are quite capable of losing to him again, if he lives long enough.

xJoyPeaceHealthx · 01/02/2023 17:23

Wow
"This madness will end"

I am glad men won't be able to compete in women's sports.
Personally I agree with him but is it too extreme? Will people think " I can't be on the same side as trump"

Sturgeon was lampooned because she said that people who disagreed with her were transphobes, homophobes and racists. She attacked people instead of engaging in sensible discussion.
We need to do the reverse: Trump is not everyone's cup of tea (understatement!) but does that automatically make him wrong on this subject? Engage with the debate, not the debater. An ad hominem attack is a poor argument.

DemiColon · 01/02/2023 18:00

Trump really hasn't changed his view on this, it seems the same as it was before.

There is a reason he's resonated with so many people, why in the second term he even increased his votes from black and Hispanic voters.he is generally pretty good at putting his finger on what "regular" people are thinking and messaging in that direction - he may have now undone that with the stuff that happened after the election, but up until then his messaging was effective. And Biden has totally fucked any chance he had of convincing those same people that he is a moderate middle ground guy.

ResisterRex · 01/02/2023 18:02

Biden needs to convince people he's not radio controlled.

But he is, isn't he?

MissConductUS · 01/02/2023 15:07

Yank here. Trump doesn't care the slightest about this issue. He's just putting bait in the water to see who bites at it. His poll numbers are bad and steadily getting worse, so he's looking for a plan B. Even if people believe that he cares about this issue, it will not improve his numbers significantly.

He’s just hoovering up a rival’s policy.

This time it’s a primary rival, Ron DeSantis, but he’s done the same thing with Bernie Sanders in the past.

He’s keen on snagging the sorts of people we sometimes call Blue Labour, the red wall -type voters.

Yep, he's not going after the die-hard democrats, he's going after the floating voters in the middle. And they might just be convinced by it too when they start publicising what's happening in schools (amongst other places).
The main problem with DT doing this is a lot of people are "orange man bad" and will automatically say whatever the opposite opinion is. It'll definitely bring sunlight though.

KohlaParasaurus · 01/02/2023 18:29

I think Trump is repugnant and no friend to women. But pushing back gender politics and punishing those complicit in the brainwashing and mutilation of children and the erosion of women's rights is going to be a formidable task. It's never going to happen if we wait for nice people with all the right beliefs to do it, we need powerful people. Even if it means holding our noses for a while.

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 01/02/2023 18:33

I would imagine a lot of registered Republican voters will recognise this as stolen from Ron, who seems to be a very big threat to Trump (presumably why Trump has copy pasted almost directly!)

I don’t think Trump will get the GOP nomination this time around, but I would imagine a lot of normies, both in the US and beyond (including here) are currently unaware that schools transition kids without parental permission? They’ve likely noticed the sports thing, maybe the prisons, but they likely won’t know that some ‘trans kids’ are hidden from their parents.

Childrenofthestones · 01/02/2023 18:38

Orange man good . Hes going for the full hit including the teachers. 😊👍

Exactly. There will be a lot of stuff that people, especially parents who he is specifically targeting, who simply don't know about any of it and this is absolutely going to force the issue.

What do you mean 14-year-olds are getting double mastectomies, citation please?

Sure

<Produces umpteen yeet the teet photos>.

Here’s DeSantis from 3 months ago:

He’s got 3 preschool/infant school age kids himself and I think he really does understand what’s going on with kids right now, it’s not 75% autocue as it is with Trump.

His language makes me wince a bit but that’s probably because I’m an oldschool sandal weaving lefty who is still coming to terms with losing Labour to IDPOL and still can’t quite cope with people who say ‘Blame Marxism’ - even though I know that if you dig all the way through Queer theory to it’s roots, that’s the germinating seed.

(I suppose my wincing is a bit like when new posters turn up here and tell us off for calling transwomen men. They know we aren’t wrong but it still feels shocking and takes them some time to recalibrate)

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 01/02/2023 18:56

The gender stuff starts from about 7:50 on the DeSantis clip, btw - he starts with sports.

Thanks for that, Nicola, i'm only halfway through but it's really interesting. Next to Trump, he sounds a lot more rational, but I know what you mean - (reading between his lines).

But on the other hand, he's not as (faux) outraged as Trump.

He hasn't gone for the jugular.

I guess that will count in his favour with some and not with others.

Interesting though, that it's become a real political issue.

Musomama1 · 01/02/2023 19:02

Wow, talk about not f#£_ing around.

If he gets in (a strong possibility I'm told), then this could be huge. It came from America, it ends in America?

I do wonder whether it's too strong and will get a kickback - but obviously I can't disagree with.aby of what he's said . He needs to get all kiddies off social media though as it's coming from there more so than in the schools.

Is this how you stop a social contagion? Prohibition?

Having seen all this Scottish Prison stuff I think I'd like critical thinking being taught in schools too.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/02/2023 19:24

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 01/02/2023 15:10

He's a hate-mongering transphobe. A real one, not a "believes sex is binary and immutable" one that we get accused of being. If supporting trans people would get him votes he'd probably lie about and pretend to support them because he's a shameless in pursuit of what he wants. But he hates them because they are of no use to him.

He hates women, he hates lesbians and gay men, he hates immigrants, he hates people with disabilities. He is racist.

The fact he has made this statement has nothing to do with the protection of women's rights, nor to protect vulnerable young people from irreversible damage.

I can agree with Hitler, Pol Pot and Trump that the earth is round. It doesn't mean I'm on their side.

This.
