According to the latest Scottish Prison Service statistics, there were 11 trans women, four trans men and three non-binary/gender fluid prisoners between July and September 2022. There were 7,092 male prisoners and 280 female inmates.

prisons really have to be single sex, it’s the only possible way to move forward. No matter what surgery a person has or how they feel or identify, humans cannot change sex. It’s not fair on the inmates or the officers to subject women to mixed sex prisons.

Do both the GRA and the GRC need to be repealed in order that women's prisons are for women only?

Next set of tweets and letters need to go to Ash Regan - questions including:

• has this much vaunted risk assessment that Scott passed ever concluded no to a male entering the women's estate?
• is the male or female risk assessment used?
• will grassroots independent experts on women and trauma be consulted? Or just the SNP sock puppets and 'trauma experts' led by men with a personal political bias in finding against women's interests who created this disaster in the first place?

Sturgeon reminds me of Thatcher. Such self belief in her own bubble that she doesn't give a flying fork about what's going on outside of her bubble. An unshakable belief that she can do no wrong. Complete detachment from reality. An ego out of control. A complete refusal to listen.
For a few days now I have come to the belief that her downfall will mimic Thatcher's just as much as her route to to it already has done. I expect it to play out exactly the same. I expect Sturgeon to be just as shocked as Thatcher was. I'm getting sertious deja vu.

The comments on Wings seem to reckon Ash Regan will “do a Howe” and that Sturgeon is terrified of this and is lashing out left right and centre.

Wasn't the woman at the centre of the judicial review going to sue the MoJ? As I recall the judge said that the policy was lawful but that she could sue if the MoJ had failed to safeguard her.

Anyone know how that case is progressing?

"...with a view to determining the most appropriate location for the individual to be accommodated" Nor does that.

"As the first minister pointed out last week, we must not allow any suggestion to take root that trans women pose an inherent threat to women." Blanket policy unlikely.
