I will be there too.

EL0ISE · 02/02/2023 10:58

I’d also like to point out that the weather is forecast to be 7 degrees , dry with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, which has been arranged especially for those of you coming up for England, to make you feel welcome in Glasgow 😀

BlackForestCake · 02/02/2023 11:42

I think there will be more incels than actual furries there. Hopefully way more women than either.

Violetparis · 02/02/2023 12:02

I think the more the public sees of the trans activists and the ridiculous furries the more they will be disgusted/incredulous at how this nonsense as got so far. Shame on our politicians and those in the media who have been hiding.

GromblesofGrimbledon · 02/02/2023 12:10

@WorthyOfRespectInADemonicSociety

Really? Oh. Brilliant 😑

MarchXX · 02/02/2023 20:20

7 degrees?
Positively balmy, coats optional, I think .
I'll be there, travelling with friends, sticking together for safety.

I'm not too worried about violence at this event. Why? The police will be on the ball with keeping the groups separate, like the last LWS. This one is VERY public and the TRAs have belatedly realised that their violence and aggression actually put people against them; they do our work for us and show themselves up blatently every time.

Also, the recent disgraceful 'rapists in womens prisons' debacle has newly mass peaked huge numbers of Scottish people and if they see TRAs screaming at women, they're going to be up front about their displeasure at the bullying and silencing tactics.
All in all it'll be a good day for democracy.

Babdoc · 02/02/2023 22:34

DD is going. She is krav maga trained, so more than able to tackle any transactivists who turn violent, bless her!

EL0ISE · 02/02/2023 22:42

@Babdoc I think I saw your Dd at the demo at Holyrood last year, at least I’m assuming it was her from the signs the she was carrying from her group ( if you know what I mean ).

But I thought it might just be ever so slightly weird to go up and say so 🫢

Babdoc · 03/02/2023 08:49

ELOISE, I’m sure DD would be delighted to say hello to any of our fellow Terven! She was v chuffed when KJK remembered her from Edinburgh, on her phone in.

Abhannmor · 03/02/2023 09:29

Good luck everyone. I'm sure the police will be on the ball by this time. Don't forget to bring a saltire. The 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 flag is not the property of the misogynists any more than the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 flag is of football hooligans.

GreenSunfish · 04/02/2023 08:25

Wow, a big thread of attenders - I’m going too!

ILikeDungs · 04/02/2023 08:27

Me too! No dungs this time though :)

FemaleAndLearning · 04/02/2023 13:25

On the M6 now just changed drivers. 4 of us coming. Really looking forward to it. The Standing for Women stewards are fab and totally on the ball. It may be loud if the protesters are allowed too close. Incredible they call us fascists when they don't want our voices heard. So you may not hear much but I go for the atmosphere and to support and watch it on you tube later.

For those worrying you will be well looked after, I love chatting to the other women (and blokes), it's so interesting seeing what peaked people. I totally understand my first one was worrying (Nottingham) but gets easier with each one (I've been to Manchester, Brighton, Cardiff and London).

See you there!

WorthyOfRespectInADemonicCisCity · 04/02/2023 14:33

Incoming Pity Party alert....

I can't go now and I am so fucked off. I was going up on the train today and staying at DDs overnight. I have been SO looking forward to it, meeting so many like minded women inc fabulous MNetters and actually getting our voices heard (as well as seeing my DD of course!) I was also so excited to be travelling independently by myself which is a big deal as it's the first time in a few years that my epilepsy has finally been controlled enough for me to do something like this unaccompanied and all by myself. You can probably see where this is going...yep, big seizure yesterday and dislocated my shoulder and fucked some ribs. So fucking disappointed. I was looking forward to it so much (and ofc it's one less woman there when we want and need as many as possible!)

Plus Ive cried and blown my nose so much Blush that when I blew my nose again in the bathroom before, my favourite fancy gold septum ring (put in specially for the weekend) fell out and went down the toilet. That bit sounds ridiculous doesn't it. FML.

I shall be with you in spirit.

PoliticalFootball · 04/02/2023 15:25

That's a shame Worthy 😥Hope you feel better soon.

MorrisZapp · 04/02/2023 15:31

I'm going! Suspect the train from Edinburgh will be terf mayhem 😂

Newlychosencatservant · 04/02/2023 15:43

I'm going too!!

TightFistedWozerk · 04/02/2023 15:45

Have a great time, you lovely terves. I shall be following online.

Worthy I am so sorry, epilepsy is a tricksy bugger. Boo at the fancy septum ring/loo thing.

Jesus Christ.

Look, I know you are all grown women able to take care of yourselves, but for the love of god, take sunscreen and plenty of water. We may be fearsome feminists but we are all vulnerable to heatstroke.

thedaywecaughtthetrain · 04/02/2023 19:22

Is there anyone else contemplating going that is travelling on the train from Stirling arriving Glasgow 11.09 and would like a buddy? In most circumstances I am perfectly content to do things myself but this situation is putting doubt into my mind - pathetic I know. Just thought I'd ask and someone can talk some sense into me.

Calyx72 · 04/02/2023 19:38

I'm thinking of going. Would be alone and nervous. 50 years old and frightened to go to a protest at George Square! My friend is too scared in case she is photographed and her work finds out.

ArabellaScott · 04/02/2023 19:52

2023 and women are afraid to attend a 'Let Women Speak' event. How did we get here?

Sad
dapsnotplimsolls · 04/02/2023 19:58

Bit late now but I'd love it if all the women attending wore bright pink leggings with some socks stuffed down them and a choppy blonde wig ...
