It's a no holds barred account. This doesn't seem possible even 6 months ago.

Re Daniel at Polmont, it looks like he was first jailed for life in 2004 when he would have been the appropriate age for the facility. Not sure why he has not been transferred out however.

Janice's article in The Times states that Eastwood is in a female prison.

XanaduKira · 28/01/2023 09:56

I agree @ComeTheSpringLobelia & @ThePoshUns

Disappointing really that it's only been them. Hopefully these recent cases will open everyone's eyes (fingers crossed in that but not overly hopeful!)

Why is 'deadnaming' even a thing?

Because we were told, like 'cis' and other bits of jargon, 'here is the language we require you to use to disguise reality and enable the situation'. And enough sadfaces and pressure was applied to suggest it was actually a punishable offense not to enable.

It's enabled bloody rapists and sex offenders into female prisons.

Done now.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 28/01/2023 10:11

The preciousness about 'deadnaming' is so irritating - most women over 60, and many under 60, changed their name after marriage. Most of them also respond happily enough when meeting an old neighbour, schoolfriend or family member who uses their earlier surname. Name change is not death and rebirth - pretending it is seems to be another manifestation of the quasi religious character of much trans ideology.

re The Daily Mail, a couple of decades ago an online friend commented that the right wing new coverage distracted people from the different, far more 'soft feminist' character of the comment pages.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 28/01/2023 10:13

Dammit, married womens 'deadnames' get shown on their actual death notices so that their friends from the old days know who they are (I'm in Ireland, where the death notices, RIP.ie and funerals are a big deal).

I have NC’d to comment on this board.

Yes, there are guidelines with regards to pronouns etc. A number of national and local papers, over the years, seem to get around this by using photos that leave the reader in no doubt with regards to the disparity between the written word and the visual evidence.

Dm did this a few days ago. Article using she and her but a picture that made it very obvious they were talking about a man.

This is an excellent point.

And another one.

Swashbuckled · 28/01/2023 11:05

@Walrussy

That's a shocking read.

Mollyollydolly · 28/01/2023 11:11

That Mail article is really good, needs sharing far and wide.

TBF the Daily Mail has shifted more to centre since Dacre left a few years back.

Glad to see the coverage but those IPSO guidelines need to be the next thing to be highlighted.

I can imagine a very meta Daily Mail article, with a Daily Mail journalist and their editor doing a DM sad face under the headline "We were forced to describe a double rapist as "she" or face a £1m fine". Subhead - "The shocking situation as journalists are banned from reporting on reality to our readers by the same pressure groups who got double rapist transferred to women's jail"

You know they've already copied the text from your post for when they do that article!

Datdamndamp · 28/01/2023 11:34

Boiledbeetle · 28/01/2023 00:55

I think they are breaking cover first. The rest will follow shortly. I reckon the Mail is about to take the plunge into he.

I'd bet on it. ( I wish I could put that in your bigly text).

You missed out literal violence.

All those increased hate crime news pieces against trans people?

Concerted efforts to push deadnaming and misgendering as literal violence, in as bad as being beaten unconscious in the toilets by a 6 foot bloke with a beard in the women's toilets, literal violence.

Women got arrested for putting up stickers saying men couldn't be women.. Women lost jobs. All so people like Adam could force us all to pretend he was a woman called Isla.

No. We are not playing your game anymore and LEGALLY and LITERALLY you can't make us.

Fuck off. No debate

(Not you nils obvs kisses)

NotBadConsidering · 28/01/2023 11:41

I’ve said a few times I’d like one of the big media organisations like the DM or the Times to deliberately use appropriate sex pronouns that is, report the truth - and force IPSO into action. The sunlight would be incredible.

bellac11 · 28/01/2023 11:43

Its a good article but does make the mistake of mentioning 'the gender they were born with'

Also the issue about the bloke who thinks hes a baby doesnt make sense. Thinking you're a baby is nothing to do with gender so why are the prison officers required to play into his sexual fantasy under gender protocols?

I agree, use someones chosen name by all means, but dont pretend someone is a she when he's a he.

unclebuck · 28/01/2023 11:53

My personal view about the mail is simple. Whilst Owen Jones and his cronies at the Guardian consider women to be public property, and ripe for any abuse by any man, the Mail considers all women to be private property - of men - their husbands or fathers. It is not a view I think is ok, but it explains their recent publishing on DV and trans issues.

If going by protocols, no, it shouldn't be under gender protocols. I suppose there's an argument for going by mental health protocols if he really does believe he's a baby (and I personally think the relevant verb would be 'says' / 'claims').

But we all know that in fact this is related because Queering.

Amanda Plattel used the pronoun HE to describe Adam/Isla - in an article in today's Mail

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 28/01/2023 12:02

that is a cracker of an article

and yes, if men can role play as women, why can't they role play as babies? it's exactly the same thing

blardyblahblah · 28/01/2023 12:06

Fux sake. Platell
