It is surely too much of a coincidence that a group of people with the same fetishes and the same MO manage to get so much influence inside a political party?

They thought we were saying all trans women are sexual predators - to be trans is to be a predator. Because the howls of outrage about what we were claimed to be saying were louder than ours, and more outraged than ours, and more simplistic than ours, and less banned than ours, and drowned out what we were really saying.

And of course, for those who define themselves as allies, they want to believe that is what we are saying. When the "other side"'s argument is irrational and easily dismissed, you can dismiss it without any need to think too hard about your own side's assumptions.
