I’m convinced that she fervently believes this and sees her ideas as The One True Right Way.

(incidentally, I used to know her a bit before her political career. She was a bloody nightmare, even long before she was in a position to influence the lives of millions of people)

I agree it is hijacking of children’s minds just when they are at the most imaginative phase of their lives. Then there are some parents who promote this too.

This ideology has found it way into every institution from education, including at primary schools.

In case anyone has not seen it, this is a petition against teaching gender identity ideology to children on their RSE lessons at school. It closes on the 18th. Unfortunately it got missed until just a short time ago, though it has had a huge number of signatures since then.

More people can write to a regional MSP than a constituency MSP as they represent an entire region rather than a single constituency. Whether she reads those letters and takes any notice is another matter.

We have PR here in Ireland, Single Transferable Vote. Multi member seats. No silly list system.

Trouble with the list is you are flying blind - they could impose any idiot on you. I have 3 members in my constituency and believe me they are fully accountable . I'm annoying one now about buses actually.

We have the same system as Scotland here in Wales. The parties name the candidates for the list before the election and the names are on the ballot paper. What makes you think the list MSPs aren't accountable?

What’s going on now will affect all of those with young children or planning children in the future. It’s perverse and it’s criminal.
I’ve expressed my concerns to my own young adult children but they often just don’t get it- until you give examples.

I think women like this just hate a lot of things and people. Starting with themselves, of course.

sadly, not voting for a party in any significant numbers does not prevent them from amassing enormous power and influence through coalition. Coalition building allows a party that got only 8.1% of the vote (and won no constituency seats at all) to dictate policy in this way.

The extremist views of the Scottish greens very clearly do not represent anything but a minority of Scottish voters. But there’s no reason to think that a future SNP leader won’t happily give them power far beyond what they gained through legitimate democratic processes have again. Because they’re more interested in securing their own power than democratically representing the Scottish people.

Earlier today I was reading about that horrific case in America where a six year old shot a teacher. The child is (rightly) being held in a mental facility instead of jail. If a 6 year old can consent to puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, should they be treated as an adult by the legal system?

I know I'm mixing countries and legal systems, but I don't think a 6 year old should be making choices about their gender, what medicines they should take, or be held legally responsible for their actions (of course they should receive as much mental health support as they need).

I was also thinking about puberty blockers and severely disabled children. Could parents put their disable child (who can't consent or has been pushed to consent) on puberty blockers indefinitely so that they don't have to deal with the child going through puberty and the struggles that can bring?

Thinking about her views about six year olds, many of our schools are encouraging confusion in children by planting ideas that they may have an inner gender identity at odds with their body if they do not conform to stereotypes of masculine and feminine. This can happen through their RSE lessons in schools which are outsourced to providers. The pushing of ideas of gender identity may be subtle or more overt.

The Tate for example has recently drawn attention for providing a school resource that is steeped in gender identity ideology, as well as offering Drag Queen Story Time with Aida H Dee.

The poster screen shot below which is from a school resource on the wall of a primary school shows a deliberate conflation and confusion with sex and gender and effectively removes ‘sex’ from the nine protected characteristics of the Equality Act ( although the poster does not mention the EA).

Remove references to 'gender identity' from relationships education guidance

Since 2020 the DfE has published guidance for relationships and sex education. This says "Pupils should be taught the facts and the law about sex, sexuality, sexual health and gender identity in an age-appropriate and inclusive way". Gender identity is a social construct, and not recognised in law.

There's no evidence that we're born with a ‘gender identity’, and we do not believe that schools should be teaching children about this concept. We also believe that teaching school children about gender identity is inconsistent with the Education Act (section 406), which prohibits 'political indoctrination'. The Government should remove all references to 'gender identity' from guidance on relationships and sex education

Kidd at primary at that age chahge together. In infants its nore likely facilities are mixed. They do pe together. Most will still be using public toilets with their parents and having their parents help them get dressed in cubicles at the pool/gymnastics etc

The dilemmas we all talk about don't really exist at age 6.

So this all gives more ability to say " well see nothing happens. More people that allow statistics to be diluted and trivialised what happen when kids get older.

These 6 year olds are simply fir adults ti hide behind its not about caring
