From my memory:

The brilliant and informative Chromosomes thread had a sub-thread on Weetabix identifying as Shredded Wheat. A poster then claimed that toast had a Y component because it contains Yeast. I pointed out that toasted soda bread didn't contain yeast.

Things then went a little downhill. There was a claim that soda bread was still male as it smells like semen. Someone else said it smelled fishy. Somebody else complained that they couldn't get the jizzy miasma out of her head. I threw out the half loaf of soda bread that I had as I couldn't eat it. It was suggested that Vosene might remove the jizzy miasma.

There might have been more but that's all I can remember.

I did snort at jizzy miasma - a nom de plume for sooo many situations.

Hang on, I've only just noticed "sofa bread" in the OP. That changes everything.

But if normal yeasty bread wears butter and jam, surely it passes?

Sofa bread is just a fancy name for pizza night on the couch. It's all about how it's dressed that matters.

I smell a powdered lobster fiasco.

Well here it is:

250g of strong wholemeal flour
250g of strong white flour
100g of oats
40g of butter
560ml buttermilk
Pinch of salt
2 X teaspoon of baking soda

Mix the dry ingredients together, rub the butter into the mix, gently fold the buttermilk into the set mix. Fashion a round loaf, cross it with a sharp knife. Bang in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45-50 mins. Eat hot from the oven with trans butter (margarine) or President butter.
