This is much more fun than the original thread.

I am now imagining a bread loaf big enough for a sofa. You don’t have to move when you get hungry.

I love soda bread but everyone else I know hates it.

I'll have to try the recipe given here. My current recipe is nice tasting but when it says shape it into a ball, I can't - it's too wet. It just sort of oozes into a cowpat shape and when I try to cut the cross, it just melts into itself.

And I've tried reducing the liquid, using colder butter etc. It still oozes.

My local boulangerie is closed next Friday to Monday so I'd usually make a loaf or two to see us through. If you birthing parent fuckers make me bake a birthing parent fucking sofa bread I'm not going to be happy.

My nan used sour milk instead of buttermilk. It was plentiful in summer as she resisted getting a fridge for decades. I'll try to ahem , rise above the Jizzy Miasma now.

Have you a cast iron/cruset pot or maybe a pyrex bowl, tip your mix in that and bake, you might want to oil and flour it first, for non stick purps, maybe cover with lid/foil for the first half of bake time and uncover for the final half? IDK, worth a shot?

I must say, i have absolute nailed hipster artisan sourdough, and it is much better for you than soda bread due to the pre-digestions of bacteria and yeast, but it will require you to repeatedly watch this fairly annoying youtube video to get it right. You have to do absolutely everything he says. I'm assuming he is a 'he', but I am waiting back on his abdomen ultrasound to discover womb or lack of, as previously suggested by a fantastic visitor...

I spend 30 mins in defense position against three hungry children and one bread loving bloke. (I think.. haven't checked his chromosomes recently. He did impregnante me but I think that's irrelevant these days)
