If Scottish-born Chloe uses their Scottish birth to a Scottish GRC, what does this mean for staff assessing Thompson's reoffending risk? As covered by other threads, it is policy in English and Welsh prisons to use the risk assessment procedure developed around female sex offenders, to assess the risk that male offenders with a GRC present. Instead of the specialised assessment developed around male offenders!

In March 2021, HM Prison Service introduced a new risk predictor tool known as OSP (OASys Sexual reoffending Predictor) to assess all adult male prisoners in England and Wales who were convicted of a current or previous sexual or sexually motivated offence. It proved to be rather more accurate than all previous processes used to predict a male sex offender’s likelihood of future offending and it enabled prisons and the Probation Service to tailor the management of these higher risk offenders more effectively both during custody and after release.

The reason why OSP is exclusively a risk predictor tool for men and why it cannot - and is not - used for women is because female sex offenders (statistically a vanishingly small group indeed) have vastly different motivations and patterns of offending. They have their own risk assessment process, an exclusively female-centred one.

I think you know where I am going with this. OSP is not used for male sex offenders who have GRCs. They are automatically excluded because their legal sex is female. Instead, the risk assessment process for biologically female sex offenders is used, even though it is completely invalid for male-pattern sex offending and useless at predicting their future risk.

The press were able to disclose Thompson's previous convictions, so I don't think Thompson has a GRC yet. This is from February this year.
The court heard 42-year-old Thompson has 17 convictions for 22 offences and was still under a suspended sentence order at the time of the latest crimes. Previously convicted as Andrew McNab, the defendant had been put on the sex offenders' register and made subject to notification requirements in 2011 for sexually assaulting an underage girl. But she was hauled back before courts in May last year for breaching her notification requirements for the 11th time.

My comment on realism was in regards to choosing a merkin that matched her hair colour, sewing it to sheer tights that match her skin tone, cutting the merkin to approximately a full 1970s bush triangle shape proportional to her body size, and the merkin fur length was not unusually long…no long scraggly beard look.

She could have chosen a merkin in a bright neon colour, or a feathered one, or one that has dangly braids or beads in it. She could similarly have chosen tights of a different nonnatural colour as well. She could have cut the merkin into a different shape too.

Doing an (even more) obviously fake version would probably have gleaned some other type of criticism from someone though.
