The memorial in honour of women murdered because of their sex was represented by a transwomen (Fae) who gave a speech about ‘gender based’ violence.
One woman- Jennifer Anne asked him a question at the end ‘on how women can be safe when there are men like him gaslighting us.’

What an insult to those women murdered specifically because they were female. What a bloody insult.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 07/12/2022 09:08

It is an insult

and fuck me could you imagine the furore if it was the other way around

Sparklfairy · 07/12/2022 09:09

Didn't they do this last year too? I remember because it was the first time I'd heard of this massacre and read up a lot on it after reading the thread.

RudsyFarmer · 07/12/2022 09:10

Stunning and brave.

nauticant · 07/12/2022 09:13

It's also worth looking at the replies to Fae Johnstone's tweet:

Both tweets are also in the article.

Look in the article for Anastasia Preston Sparklfairy.

Seeing this has made me furious this morning. So very insulting. And just why? Who on earth thought that the best person to speak at this event would be a man?

On the other hand, great, calm, clear question from Jennifer. How telling that

a) Fae dismissed it

b) Jennifer was invited to discuss in private

waterwitch · 07/12/2022 09:44

Yep, Fae’s views are very clear - women should shut up

Circumferences · 07/12/2022 09:46

Well come on, it's Canada. 🤷The progressive dystopia...

CloudPop · 07/12/2022 09:50

Saw a comment on Twitter explaining that trans women are ideally suited to discuss this subject, due to them being the most discriminated against/marginalised yada yada. The implication being that violence against women is NOTHING compared to what trans women are subjected to.

Abccde · 07/12/2022 09:52

I think of all the times where TW have taken the place of a woman, this must be up there as the worst.

No respect for woman and the college should hang their heads in shame.

Helleofabore · 07/12/2022 10:07

This person who spoke is a consultant. They don’t seem to be connected to the university at all. They were chosen specifically to do this. And celebrated for doing this.

Jennifer never backed down. Not once. I don’t know that I would have kept on topic.

The complete dismissal by this male was appalling.

And the narcissism that male has shown in their tweets is unsurprising.

IWannaDismemberFairies · 07/12/2022 10:26

I saw that the BBC have included a trans women in their hundred women of the year thing as well.

FGS.

FunnyTalks · 07/12/2022 10:34

The day a rich male sinks thousands of pounds on trying to get a transwoman pregnant with a surrogate baby for him is the day I think any of this is genuine and not just an opportunistic expression of the vilest misogyny.

Know your fucking place, women.
We only care about your trauma when we can appropriate it for our own ends.

What the bloody hell is this?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/12/2022 10:45

TRAs frequently try to hijack events around this Remembrance Day. It's quite sobering to see the lack of respect these arseholes have for women, and their idiotic female enablers.

This!
An atrocious insult to the poor women murdered for the crime of being female.

Nearly as bad as this: LGBTTIQQ2SA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, queer, questioning, two-spirited, and asexual).

I'm so impressed that Jennifer Anne stepped up and asked her question. Especially in Canada where dissent seems to be very harshly clamped down on. I hope she's ok and has support as there's inevitably going to be a lot of hate sent her way after speaking out.

Venetiaparties · 07/12/2022 10:56

Men should not be representing women.

The females should walk out and not attend. What the fuck, it is so damn insulting.

I agree with the pp it IS brave, because a memorial is no place for wokery.

There are two on this year's list: grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/the-bbcs-yearly-insult-to-women-gets

There is one good thing to come out of this and that is Jennifer Anne. Bloody well done to her and I shall look out for her again.

Call me cynical, but it looks like a ploy to start moving LGB to the back of the queue. Now why would they do that, I wonder?
