The memorial in honour of women murdered because of their sex was represented by a transwomen (Fae) who gave a speech about ‘gender based’ violence.
One woman- Jennifer Anne asked him a question at the end ‘on how women can be safe when there are men like him gaslighting us.’

Thanks @Floisme - you are right, there is an upside to this. And the sunlight, I guess, and seeing the push back this man, who on his way to commemorate the senseless murders of 14 women was happily tweeting “And for once I got through a whole train ride without complaining on Twitter about Via Rail Wi-Fi!”, received, is a boon.

But, choosing him out of all the available women is such a kick in the guts. It was only 33 years ago, those young women’s parents and relatives will still be alive.
Makes my heart sore.

Well done Jennifer Anne, I hope you at least made him think.

What a wankstain. More sunlight the better

Came to this thread after seeing this tweet from Durham College honouring "all self-identified women":

twitter.com/durhamcollege/status/1600209125518237696?s=20&t=kStjUO_-prhU-Rtgljv7pg

The ratio is quite something - I can't see a single supportive comment.

It never ceases to amaze me how the transwomen who take up these offers to speak instead of women can bear to do it.
I mean globally how often do women get the chance to get up and speak- I bet the stats are pretty appalling.

Always the best person to explain women's experience and voices to the world is a man.

Because it's the ultimate ego stroke.

My question would be how those who decide to stroke a male's ego at the expense of actual basic human compassion towards murdered human females and their families can bear to do it.

I remember they chose a transwomen last year too. Is it obligatory or something?

nilsmousehammer · 07/12/2022 14:06

It's signalling. 'I am showing how I believe that here is the Ultimate Woman and I love Big Brother' (look what a good girl I'm being)'.

Sparklfairy · 07/12/2022 09:09

Didn't they do this last year too? I remember because it was the first time I'd heard of this massacre and read up a lot on it after reading the thread.

Yes, same. I'm sure this has happened before.

ArabellaScott · 07/12/2022 14:10

Last year.

Different transwoman.

Here’s a list of the women who were murdered. One of them was a friend of a friend. My friend is 56.

We remember the women who were murdered.

EsmaCannonball · 07/12/2022 14:18

The murderer was a gender ideologue; he killed those women because they broke the rules that gender worshippers so love. Fae could have walked out of the room with the other men.

The École Polytechnique massacre was something that really struck a chord with me when I was a teenager. I had my moment of realising that trans women were not women in the mid-90s - also realising the inherent sexism and homophobia behind transgenderism and its potential clash with women's rights, particularly with women's need for respite from the male presence - but it was the TRA protests at a women-only memorial of this shooting several years ago that woke me up to how transgenderism had been taken over by people who utterly hate women. Thanks for making me smell the coffee, Morgane Oger.

Justasec321 · 07/12/2022 14:20

On the day of the massacre the murderer told all the men to leave the room.

I wonder which side Fae would have chosen then?

Well come on, it's Canada. 🤷The progressive dystopia...

Canada, where we drive women to despair and then offer to euthanize them.

Thanks to Glinner for this:

Every time I think nothing more can shock me, it does.
I'm just shaking my head and lost for words.
and the anger I feel 😡

'I think perhaps that things have not changed that much for men since Marc Lepine went rampaging through L’Ecole Polytechnique yelling “I hate feminists”. Men hold the keys to the vaults. Men still outnumber women in engineering schools and boardrooms and parliament buildings. Men are still entitled, and still become angry when any of us say “No”, or if we have the audacity to say, “We belong here. Move over, you’re in my space.”

But we still do it. We have to. Because when we capitulate we’re in trouble, and when act with entitlement we’re in trouble. So we might as well walk around as if we goddamn well own the place.

“The nerve of those women!” you say?

Indeed.

We can never forget. And we can never let up. If we are to win, (and we will win), we must never lose our nerve. It has cost us a lot. And it will. But there is no alternative if we are to gain our freedom.

Bloody hell.

DarkDayforMN · 07/12/2022 14:31

Fuck. I thought at first you meant the other Fae, the dismemberment porn enthusiast, had been asked to speak at a memorial for massacred women. At least it wasn’t him.

(Next year, probably. Canada is still accelerating.)

HermioneWeasley · 07/12/2022 14:31

It’s a fucking insult and they wouldn’t do this to any other group.

Meanwhile, a woman in Canada has been arrested for 'swearing and yelling in a public place', while protesting a drag show.
