Little Owen’s head must’ve exploded - those articles are LITERAL VIOLENCE

PIKNIK20 · 25/11/2022 19:56

I will be listening to Radio 4 Today programme tomorrow how it is going to be reported. Justin Webb and Nick Robinson are GC, for sure.

BenCoopersSupportWren · 25/11/2022 19:57

Wouldn’t it be great if this meant Mermaids could get back to being a truly supportive charity for gender questioning and non-conforming children? A charity that advocated for watchful waiting, therapy to explore other possible root causes, and which was clear that sex is immutable. A charity which encouraged young people to smash gender stereotypes, not reinforce them.

Unfortunately I think there is so much shit still to hit the fan here that it’s unlikely the people with the knowledge and strength to turn the Mermaids ship around would be attracted to the challenge. As PPs have said, could it be more of a poisoned chalice?

PatientZorro · 25/11/2022 19:59

Maybe we could all do a job share 🤔

I agree entirely. There are young people who need support not stereotypes and binders.

@Happylittlechicken the jobs yours, I just know it, but better safe then sorry so make sure the correct articles come up in the top few searches as you know if it's sixth on the page they'll miss it.I

They don't just know it in the ovaries you know recent research shows they know it since that female they reside in was just a twinkle in her daddies eye.

I wonder when the judgement in the LGB Alliance case will be published. Suspect it may be a clusterfuck for Mermaids, and possibly very expensive

I hope so. With every bone in my body.

Interesting that the Guardian has even commented - they normally draw a veil over all the safeguarding outrages. And it's Amelia Gentleman who wrote the gentle article about the numbers of girls thinking that they're boys as they hit puberty. So that's 2 articles in the Guardian this week that don't fly the trans flag. Confused

Yes, noticeable they seem to have been the first media outlet to report on this?

DameMaud · 25/11/2022 20:01

Didn't someone, on a thread somewhere, once post the early, original mermaid approach - pre Susie Green. If anyone still has that it would be great to look at it again? It was much as you described Ben, as I recall it

Oh I will. Just off to use the right Twitter buzzwords to make sure I’m in the public eye. BRB. My article on knowing how peoples auras are a true signifier in which bathroom they use and the role of homeopathy on gender euphoria will be out next week.

Maybe they know something's afoot? Got to reverse that ferret.

As to SG: oh dear, what shame...

MattDamon · 25/11/2022 20:06

Released late on a Friday to try to minimise it. Can't blame them!

Let me guess, pink aura = women's, beige = women's blue = women's

And I don't know if your research showed the same results as mine but I found one drop of cat nip mixed with 10000000000000 million drops of water had me praising the bathroom ducks as I gloried in my middle aged spinster euphoria last Tuesday.

Although I may have tainted the experiment by having a rather large joint beforehand.

Happylittlechicken · 25/11/2022 20:11

You’re right @Boiledbeetle have you been doing the same research? We can do peer reviews. 😂😂😂

Exactly, that’s why I said get back to.

Susie Green turned Mermaids from a supportive charity doing valuable work for confused, unhappy children into a personal crusade to validate her own very questionable decisions for her son. If thousands of other parents put their children through a similar process on her recommendation then she must have been right all along, mustn’t she?

I wonder if her conscience ever allows her a moment of doubt? If she ever has any 3.00am waking nightmares of “shit, what have I done??”

Boiledbeetle · 25/11/2022 20:15

@Happylittlechicken ooh yes a few of us could do each others, only need about five different people, that should do it. Couple of papers quotingg each others matching experiment data and it will be proven fact within a week.

sounds Like a plan @Boiledbeetle we’ll make clownfish a thing of the past.

ZeldaFighter · 25/11/2022 20:19

"The trustees are very grateful to Susie for everything she has done over the last six years....to build Mermaids into the organisation it is today."

And it's all her fault.

ZeldaFighter · 25/11/2022 20:20

But she doesn't work here anymore so it's all OK now.

So please stop investigating us.

Busygoingblah · 25/11/2022 20:20

They sent a whole staff email round at my nhs trust this week telling us we weren’t allowed to signpost to mermaids anymore due to safeguarding concerns being investigated.

IcakethereforeIam · 25/11/2022 20:21

@Happylittlechicken if you're serious about this it has to be done by the buck... buck, buck-buck....buuuuck!

Right, on that note I'm just off to dismantle all the feckin' elf traps and set some pixie traps.

Boiledbeetle · 25/11/2022 20:21

@BenCoopersSupportWren I truly hope that with the sudden free time she has on her hands that she actually stops and thinks about the harm she helped cause to so many children including her own child.

My biggest hope is that mermaids call it a day and fold, but if they do go forward they need to change everything about how they operate.

Given the apologies from Balenciaga in the face of those grim photos, the silence from Mermaids in the face of staff paedophile supporters and adults posting extreme porn images of themselves while they're actively working with children seems .... negligent to say the least Confused

What happens at Balenciaga?

bellinisurge · 25/11/2022 20:24
