@Freespirit42 lesbian by definition means same sex attracted. So a woman who claims to be lesbian will only be attracted to biological women.

If a woman is attracted to women and trans women then that would be bisexual or pansexual. It doesn't really matter what they say they are - I could say I'm French when I'm not - but if they don't fit the definition of same sex only attracted, they're not lesbian.

The problem is that several include intersex and they have repeated asked to be left out of this.
A couple are the same.
The access to single sex spaces isn't entirely true.
The Olympics one is technically true but ignores that trans people have won at various sports displacing women and doesn't include the non-binary footballer.

My experience is that many young lesbians don’t want to entertain the idea of partnering with any male, but can find it difficult and dangerous to express that view among their peers. But that’s just my experience, and my understanding of the attitude of a small number of teenagers proves nothing without wider evidence to back it up. Do you have any?

That's where you're wrong. A lot, if not most of us, started off with exactly that attitude. Be kind. Be nice. Be accepting. Be accomodating.
Until that wasn't enough anymore and we were forced to change our language, forced to accept males in women's spaces, forced to give up our privacy and dignity. Forced to acknowledge a legal and social fiction that males can be women in EVERY way. It is never enough. Unless you capitulate 100% and deny even biology and reality, then you are a "transphobe" and a "bigot". We've heard the trope "they just want to PEE, they just want to live a QUIET life" time and time again. It's not enough that they want to use our spaces, they want us to applaud them for doing it.

The problem in a nutshell. Perhaps if you're white, middle-class, heterosexual, happily married, lead a generally comfortable life, it doesn't cost you anything to be nice.

The people at the sharp end of this are vulnerable women: those in prison, using rape crisis centres, fleeing home to live in a domestic violence shelter, or lesbians wanting a safe space to meet other lesbians. It's not surprising that the majority of women supporting the rights of men to enter women's spaces are white and middle-class because they know, or at least believe, that they will never share a prison cell with a violent rapist or flee traumatised to a domestic violence shelter to be confronted by a man who walks around with his dick out. Quite easy to congratulate yourself on how "nice" you are and let other women bear the brunt.

Lets spell it out its poor women in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian who have to use the shoddy services of Edinburgh Rape Crisis which will not give women - women only trauma care after rape. Middle class women will pay for private counselling. Middle class women will go to private gyms where they don't have to change and shower next to men as you have to in Edinburgh Leisure. And its poor women who end up in jail and will have to have men pretending to be women in their spaces because they want a cushy time in jail and lots of victims handily around.

A short note. Most people in Scotland cannot just 'move out of Scotland'. Houses here are far cheaper than they are in the rUK.

This is why we have had a big influx of people selling up in England and moving into Scotland. The same thing can't happen in reverse.

It slightly reminds me of someone suggesting that Xhosa people in South Africa should have just 'moved out of South Africa' if they didn't like the new colonists arriving and taking over.
