I don't want to pity Eddie but I felt a wave of sadness after reading that Rosie Duffield (MP) said she would rather be arrested than refer to Eddie as a woman.

What's your definition of a woman? How does a man, become a woman. Do prey tell. Can't wait for this.......

Do you give a shit about the vulnerable women and girls being forced to share single sex spaces with male sex offenders? Or women being arrested because they won't lie and say that a man is a woman? If not...well, shame on you for not giving a shit.

I’m not sure it is that hard for Eddie to be gender fluid. I think he gets to play around with gender identity much more than most. He’s in a very privileged position.
He does seem like a nice chap and FWIW I think he’d make a brilliant Dr Who. I don’t dislike the chap.
Be a bloke who wears dresses. Shake off stupid stereotypes of what makes a man and what makes a woman. Just don’t pretend biology is made up of lipstick and heels.

I feel sorry for EI and anyone who is treated awfully, it's horrible she's had so much abuse over the past couple of weeks. I also really don't want them as my mp, there are some really great, very experienced and local candidates here and i feel annoyed that EI is getting so much coverage.

Genuine question for anybody who might know- can Eddie actually be listed and elected as a “female” M.P. If elected if Eddie isn’t in possession of a GRC? And if Eddie decided to return or remain to being gender fluid how do we count how many female M.P.s we have representing women in the country? Coz if they can how then do we monitor female representation?

If you're born with XY chromosomes, brought up as a male, look like a male, have lived most of your life as a male (regardless of clothing) then how the fuck do you "know" what it is to feel like a woman? (sorry, to be in "girl mode"?)

Why do we even use this new word 'trans'? They aren't new. They are men in drag. 90% of them keep their penis. So why don't we just refer to them as 'men in drag', men who want to dress up as women, but are still men, like we used to?

So if Eddie can switch into girl mode by putting lippy and a dress on, why can’t the women in Iran simply switch to boy mode and get out of wearing a veil and being forced into marriage? Bet if EI went to Iran he’d not be in girl mode

It would be exhausting to empathise with people every time someone doesn't agree with them. Fortunately most beliefs are sophisticated enough to understand it's a personal thing and not something other people will validate. Imagine if the Jehovah Witnesses took it to heart every time someone didn't convert?

You can't live putting other peoples delusions centre stage, you can be kind without agreeing. If someone demands they are right, especially when they are actually wrong, then it's okay to bring them back down to Earth. Society wouldn't work otherwise.

Don't compel anyone and we'll all be fine. And that sets aside that Izzard's very public behaviour on this is offensive and insulting and pretty much intended to be so, so indulging and enabling that would probably mean the Freedom Programme would be an interesting read.

OP, google Karen White for a starter for 10. This is a brash example of a man being enabled to abuse women just by ‘identifying’ as female. Then you have the athletes who identify as female so they can win stuff (including Eddie by the sound of it). Many women feel that women’s hard fought rights are being eroded and erased by men, again.

The fact here is that gender is a societal construct, ie BS (again, men making the rules up to keep women down). If gender is bol!ocks, then anyone can dress however they like (etc). It’s all irrelevant. But you can’t fundamentally change your sex. Women’s rights should be enshrined irrespective of gender constructs.

(This is my limited grasp of it anyway, I’m sure I’ll upset someone!)
