To feel incredibly sorry for Eddie Izzard

I don't want to pity Eddie but I felt a wave of sadness after reading that Rosie Duffield (MP) said she would rather be arrested than refer to Eddie as a woman.

Poor Eddie says he's going to be in 'permenant girl mode' from now on. After Rosie said her piece.

Which I find quite troubling for someone in their 50s wanting to be an MP.

I kind of expect grown ups not 'girls' or 'boys' in the HoC. What with it being a position of responsibility.

Aside from that, I find it quite remarkable that Izzard has managed to cope with being male, until he embarked on a political career and switched to boy mode when it suited parts for acting but mysterious was in girl mode for political activism. And now is going full on girl mode because there's a seat going in Sheffield.

I wish my career progression would benefit as much from this weird identity shift at convenient times like that. Feeling unavoidably innately a girl or a boy sure picks its moments doesn't it.

I'm guessing Rosie felt an innate inability to tell which side of bed Izzard had got out of bed that day. Just as much as Izzard had.

Do I feel sorry Izzard?

Why would I feel sorry for someone with amazing super hero powers that allow them to shift at will between girl and boy mode to benefit their career in a way that most humans don't have?

Some might call this skill a priviledge over women in their 50s who tend to get lots of comments about being past it or ugly based on their fading looks whilst being regarded as a bit thick for always only having female brains.

I wouldn't of course because that would be transphobic according to the Labour Party, Lib Dems, Greens and SNP. Who am I to call 'THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT?'

I don't understand how Izzard is managing to block out the awareness that only one sex has the power and arrogance to declare that just by throwing on high heels and a dodgy skirt and announcing in the manner of clark kent that they've turned into a different person, and expect the other sex to not only be interested in this and think it important but to provide the labour to enable them .

It's one huge act of sex based entitlement and sex based thinking. Not playing, life's too short and having a vagina does not make me a codependent doormat.

Eddie is having a great time, lots of publicity and people fawning over him. I'm sorry Eddie sometimes wants to be something that is impossible for Eddie. Learning to accept that there are things you cannot change is an important life lesson. No-one should expect other people to lie for them.

I think Eddie is hughly ambitious, someone who will jump on any fashionable way of thinking, the woke learning of the youth, the virtue signalling.
The only independant thinker in this is Eddie, who is banking on the majority being to worried to stray from the ethics of conform.

Using this platform to conquer his next ambition, with lack of respect for those who have serious commitment to whatever he turns his hat to.
I've never really been a fan of his standup, find him very intellegent though, but seems more like a rambling rancantour than an actual comedian.
I also found some of his support during Brexit did more harm than good, his video with Dan Hannan at a university debate evening showed how ill prepared he was.
Is this the same sort of debate the people of Sheffield will be subjected and rely on to state their case?
He is not a politician, maybe he will bring publicity to the city but will it always be a possitive publicity ?

It was appalling and utterly cringe worthy. It wasn't civil and it wasn't pleasant.

It certainly didn't do the cause any good.

The marathon running is odd. That is extreme exercise, not athletic achievement.

I think he wants a well paid job with a massive pension. Because he can see the parts drying up. Weird that.

On the marathon point, izzard admitted in the guardian that he succumbs to magical thinking and feels if he does enough marathons his dead mother will come back to life. Which is very sad. I do wonder if this girl mode business is similarly magical thinking? It will be challenging for Eddie now he’s in full girl mode … no more lucrative male roles!
