And International Trade Secretary. I'd have preferred to see her as Secretary of State for Education in addition to Minister for Women and Equalities, but this is good news.

I am suggesting that you do not accept trans women in women's spaces which has been confirmed. I am not trying to persuade you to accept them.

Trans women are already legitimately in those spaces and have been for decades Your acceptance or otherwise has nothing to do with the law. And it's not "females" who don't accept it - it's gender critical people.

How do you know whether the male in women's toilets is a man or a trans woman?

YouSirNeighMmmm · 27/10/2022 16:09

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 15:32

yes. It really has become clearer over the years.

We know that there are transitioned male people who still use the male toilet without issue. So, why is it that they can, and other transitioned males cannot?

And when it comes down to basic respect, if a transitioned male knows that their presence could cause any female in the toilet distress, how can it be then said that they respect women by using the toilet regardless?

Those using the female toilet are, by this stage of awareness, deliberately doing it knowing it could cause any female in that toilet distress, deliberately doing it for other reasons, or are completely unaware of anyone else's needs other than themselves and they feel because some other male has told them it is 'ok', that they are entitled to do so.

Have I missed anything?

You've missed the TLDR question.

Why would a male prioritize society validating their claimed sense of identity over the comfort privacy and safety of women, unless they are incredibly selfish or misogynistic?

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 16:14

FGS multiple posters have answered you over and over (and over) again over multiple pages.

Obviously, a poster was needing something to be said that directly aligned with their 'gotcha' while denying it was indeed a 'gotcha'.

DadJoke You still haven't answered how a transwomen is different to the other man on the planet? Why should say Eddie Izzard who is happy enough to be his actual sex when it suits especially if it's to his advantage, be allowed by your rules into a women's toilet and not say my respectful non dress wearing brother ? (Not that I want any man in a women's toilets by the way. Nor would my brother either just for the record ) Are the words "I am a woman" really enough to bend reality? I am all ears too your response.
.

To be somewhat serious and somewhat tongue in cheek... I don't think it's reasonable to say "no men in women's toilets". A more proportionate response would be to have a rule whereby any man who wishes to enter a woman's toilet is banned from doing so and has their hard drive checked, because their desire to ignore women's boundaries is a massive red flag. In contrast women should not be overly concerned by the presence in women's toilets of men who would never in a million years go into the ladies, because they are much less of a concern.

fair point

its males and females

And some people enjoy talking to women about toilets and probably shouldn’t be indulged

I agree.

and yes to this

Pixiedust1234 · 27/10/2022 00:38

Dadjoke please define exactly what a transwoman is, what sex is and what is a man or woman. The legal definitions please.

I'll read your clear and concise answers in the morning.

@DadJoke still waiting despite you continuing to post (and getting deleted)

Be a dear and explain it in one syallble words to us poor feeble minded wimmin. We needs help understanding 🙏

Pixiedust1234 · 27/10/2022 16:52

Just seen other posts, oops.

@TheClogLady that story about the councillor and MP is going to make interesting reading once the police decide/not to get involved. Please keeps us updated!

beastlyslumber · 27/10/2022 16:52

@ScrollingLeaves Coleman Hughes says that for every high profile case of a black person being killed by police in the states, he's found a corresponding case of a white person being killed in similar circumstances. It's awful that these cases do not make the news - and "white lives (also) matter" is seen to be a racist statement. I think Tiny Timpa's life mattered.

Oh don't be ridiculous. Why do you think women have turned around to men who come in by mistake with 'hey, excuse me, this is the ladies, you're not allowed in here'.

Do you think it's because they don't mind really, but they've just been conditioned into minding? Or do you think that men in the women's toilets is a right fucking pain in the arse for most women?

You have absolutely no idea how a man in a woman's space changes the dynamic, instantly.

Women, occasionally, really want to get away from the male gaze, it's a fucking nuisance. And yes, that includes, young men, old men, grandpas, and teens. And men who think womanhood is a costume.

And They don't have to be in the slightest bit lecherous, they just have to be not in the space that isn't theirs.

Stay out.

It's incredibly patronising to suggest that women who support trans rights do so because they don't understand the issues, or are doing it out of politeness.

And then you go off on a tangent about men in women's spaces, which is not the issue. Describing trans women as "men who think women is a costume" is transphobic as hell.

Great post, Datun. You always get right to the heart of the matter.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 17:35

Datun is quite correct though. Males have NEVER been welcomed by the majority of females in their spaces.

It is just some males who persist in trying to push a falsehood using either female socialisation (we simply leave and don't say a fucking thing) or a small group of women who have declared they are alright with it and so let males think that 'everyone' is accepting as a wedge.

As a male, you don't know. You absolutely cannot know and to try to tell us otherwise is just you persisting in attempting to force females to accept males into female single sex spaces.

Again, why? How exactly does this benefit you personally that you are constantly on this board pushing this agenda?

ReunitedThorns · 27/10/2022 17:37

Rule 701 of the Internet: Any discussion on trans'/women's issues inevitably ends up being about women's toilets.

I thought this was supposed to be about a "Comedian" on a Channel 4 programme?

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 17:37

It's incredibly patronising to suggest that women who support trans rights do so because they don't understand the issues, or are doing it out of politeness.

And you know this how?

Because a group of mates told you? Wishful thinking? You very deep and abiding knowledge of what it is to be female and your experience as a female?

How do you know this is true or not?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2022 17:37

If you as a male do this, you are demonstrating a belief that it's ok for you to distress, intimidate and exclude females, and deprive them of any facility at all.

Once you see this, you can't ever unsee it. More women see it every day.

Absolutely. More women are discussing it than ever. And many I have spoken to feel absolutely horrified that what they believed was it was males without a penis. And they immediately feel betrayed by those who have pushed this to this point.

The backlash is building. I am surprised to see posters still trying this line of posting to be fair.

Which is why I want to know what motivates them.

I think though we can draw conclusions if the question remains unanswered.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2022 17:44

Yes apocalips. I have yet to find any woman who thinks it is ok for males to ever use the female toilets after they are about 8 - 10 years old.

A Labour politician was on Julia Hartley Brewer's show this morning, and she appeared to think the idea of males like Izzard specifically using women's toilets was absurd and wrong, and assumed that Keir Starmer would agree (I'm not so optimistic, he knows full well what a woman is, but he's not going to stand up for us).

I'm so tired of the gaslighting. Women in the majority do not want males in female spaces.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 17:44

What reason does any male have for pushing the agenda that males should have any access to female single sex spaces?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2022 17:45

It's a very dubious agenda.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/10/2022 17:45

From people who fancy themselves as social justice champions, too. It's like they don't see women.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 17:50

From people who fancy themselves as social justice champions, too. It's like they don't see women.

Yet feel perfectly free to tell us what women think and to tell us what we should accept. As a male.

Plus ca change.

And these people then question and complain why women start saying very bluntly, in terms that allow no confusion, that no males should ever have access to any female single sex spaces from a certain age.

Yet, threats from trans people are hand waved away as 'they were pushed to it having their existence questioned'.

The inconsistency is becoming clearer to the wider population now as is the lack of symmetry.
