And International Trade Secretary. I'd have preferred to see her as Secretary of State for Education in addition to Minister for Women and Equalities, but this is good news.

The most disadvantaged UK race/ethnic groups by almost all data markers are Gypsy, Roma & Irish Travellers.

I can’t come up with any way to square that data with the concept of ‘white privilege’ (presumably because the academics responsible have never given Gypsy, Roma and Travellers a moments thought? Or because the had to pretend Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people don’t exist lest their pet theory comes unstuck?)

publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cmselect/cmwomeq/360/full-report.html

Thank you for this TheClogLady.
All the education data repeatedly throws up this group as featuring negatively in underachievement, exclusions and behaviour data. Yet for some reason schools are spending mega bucks with Stonewall and all the other trans lobby groups and ignoring this highly marginalised / vulnerable group Confused

Parabellum · 26/10/2022 20:18

Born white?
Well, it's your fault, dear.

CRT states so.
We're talking SKIN.
(the biggest and most disgusting human
organ imaginable, skin)
Colour of such.
Once you allow other people (political
parties) to define YOU by skin (colour)
and to do it IN LAW...
Well, how about the rest of this magicroundabout?

Can I also quote “anyone who believes this has a screw loose” and “nutty nonsense” and I haven’t even caught up with more than the last 3 posts. For some balance, as some whinged that their opinions were called monstrous and that’s not kind or some such shit.

There's plenty of reasoned argument and discussion about CRT and 'white privilege' on here, so please do read deeper and come back when you have something to contribute. In fact, maybe read the whole thread because you've clearly misunderstood the discussion about KB as well.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:37

Oh do fuck off. I couldn’t care less about your right wing views and I don’t need your fucking education. Have her. She’ll disappoint you and she’ll be like the Tories a disaster for women. See you again in 2 years time.

Nor have some peopke caught up with reality rather thanMarxist fiction.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:40

@MariEllie well, you’re dumb. I’m no Marxist but whatever justifies your right wing views must make you sleep easy.

MariEllie · 26/10/2022 20:40

Getting back to reality rather than the slanging matches indulged inby some, Sunak’s cabinet appointments have left fiscal conservatives in charge of the economic repair job while unleashing cultural conservatives on areas such as immigration control and the militant trans agenda. Interesting that both the cultural conservatives are of traditionally called ‘ethnic minority’ stock. Bravo!

Parabellum · 26/10/2022 20:41

And may I ask politely this:

What's your skin colour when you everyday
get up, go to shower, have a cuppa, hop on a bus -
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU then?
Woman/men? Me, me me, me!!!
Who the fuck IS me?
Is me sexual/racial/ethnic/religious?

Are you thinking of yourself WHITE (?)
who the fuck does that, or BLACK.
Please, just tell me.

beastlyslumber · 26/10/2022 20:46

Fuck off then @LadyWithLapdog You don't want to discuss anything, you just want to be abusive towards people - what's the point of you? You have literally nothing to offer on this thread.

MariEllie · 26/10/2022 20:47

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:40

Sorry but you just make yourself look foolish with such statements.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:50

@beastlyslumber are you the thread police? Enjoying the echo chamber? Can’t stand to bs challenges? Can only accept challenge in the agreed format? What’s the point of your constant fucking whining on the ‘feminist’ boards? Don’t you get tired of taking toilets all day long? I pointed out a couple of people being abusive. That was my point. But it’s your side, so let’s overlook it, eh?

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:52

@MariEllie whereas you don’t with your “loose screw” comment? With your jumping to conclusions about my politics?

Parabellum · 26/10/2022 20:52

IDENTITY issue.
race, sex, gender, age, disability, ethnicity,
RELIGION, personal (worthy of respect) belief,...
To be continued.
Naz Shah (labour MP) expressed it so
so eloquently:
In our PARLIAMENT

Signalbox · 26/10/2022 20:54

Enjoying the echo chamber?

Lol, this thread has multiple views on multiple topics how on earth is it an echo chamber?

God how fucking boring. You're not challenging anyone. You're just screaming abuse in people's faces.

If you have an actual point, make it.

That is certainly a group who many still think its acceptable to show overt racism towards. I've seen it on one or two horrible threads on MN, even.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:52

@MariEllie whereas you don’t with your “loose screw” comment? With your jumping to conclusions about my politics?

I sometimes think I would be happier if I were left-wing, mainly because I could pretend that my failures were the result of unfairness or a system stacked against me.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 20:58

I think it’s an echo chamber because it’s a cheerleading thread for KB. Whatever. She’ll disappoint and she’ll be a disaster but perhaps she’ll please a few dozen women on MN.

Also you never have to come up with any actual arguments. You can just call people names and it's fine because they're 'right wing' so they deserve it!

No sorry, it’s the left that never come up with arguments. Just blame everything on class orivilege.

Just one example: the ability of transgender people currently have to use the loos of their choice.

I don't get to choose which toilets I use (beyond "urgh, let's try elsewhere"). I have to go in the one society expects me to use. Being a good subject, I follow society's rules. Why should the words "I am a (wo)man" override society's rules? That's not equality, that's special treatment.

A male who identifies as transgender has the right under the equality act not to be disadvantaged because of this characteristic. Therefore the transgender male (commonly a "transwoman") can not be denied access to facilities available to other males.

Any male however CAN be denied access to spaces only available to females, because there are exceptions in the equality act to specifically permit sex discrimination under certain circumstances.

LadyWithLapdog · 26/10/2022 21:04

@MariEllie but your understanding is so limited if that’s what you think it means to lean to the left.

@beastlyslumber i did try and come up with arguments. Such as KB’s appalling voting record on fucking equalities of which she is now a fucking minister. Only to be told its not actually the full picture and maybe it was a protest vote, or maybe she had piles on that day, or other bullshit. How can you continue to engage in discussion when you’re told black is white and white is black? When you feel you’re being gaslit? Then someone calls you a Marxist or whatever and it’s disengagement time.

Signalbox · 26/10/2022 21:07

You clearly haven’t read the thread then. There are numerous posters on here calling KB far-right, right-wing extremist, right wing nut job, having abominable views (or similar). It’s no closer to being an echo chamber as Eddie Izzard is to being a woman.

JuvenileEmu · 26/10/2022 21:09

@YouSirNeighMmmm I see people like you claim that intersectionality is an improved and nuanced way of looking at discrimination. To me it seems to be the opposite, reducing humans to algebraic tick boxes of privilege/ non privilege.

I tick most of the "non privileged" boxes and I absolutely hate the concept. I don't want all my relationships viewed from a perspective of constantly grading and being graded on the characteristics I happened to be born with. I'll be honest, the concept just depresses the fuck out of me. What kind of a world to live in.
