Daughter off to uni, what should I tell her?

My unstreetwise, rather naive daughter is away to university in a big city. What do I need to tell her to keep her safe?

OP, what are you looking for here? People are giving lots of very useful general advice about staying safe when away from home for the first time. However it seems that you are more concerned about your daughter being attacked by the “trans ideology” bogeyman and maybe, shock horror, developing some opinions on this that don’t align to your own.

As a parent, the most important thing you can do is teach her to think sensibly and critically and form her own opinions on things. She is an adult and will take the rest from there.

It's far more likely that her daughter will be sucked into trans ideology — or at least feel forced to go along with it to be kind — than attacked by a stranger. So the OP is wise to worry about the former.

i suspect it’s more about what feminist issues to further discuss with her daughter rather than…. Genuine practical advice
