Women's Rally in Edinburgh, Thurs, 6th Oct

There is going to be a women's rally outside of Holyrood (Scottish Parliament) on Thursday 6th October. Gather for 11.15am for a 11.30 start. It's the one delayed from Sept 15th.

The focus of the rally (and the timing, during what is normally First Minister's Questions) is the Gender Recognition Reform Bill that is currently going through the Scottish Parliament and the impact on Scottish women's rights.

The following speakers will be there so do come along and listen, mingle, network and then come for a drink :

The rally is organised by For Women Scotland and all are welcome to attend.
If you are coming from out of town, or even from within Edinburgh, and would appreciate some company walking into the rally (which might sound a bit intimidating if you haven't been to one before) then get in touch as there will be a couple of meeting places organised.

How do you admit to your Mumsnet user name? What if there are hostile people who would ask MNHQ for IP addresses etc to doxx and harass women on here? It has happened.

I really want to come, is there still parking round the corner in Queen's Park? There used to be an ice cream van there too.

I think the carpark by Holyrood Palace is still there.

yes there is parking if you look up Holyrood park it gives info about the costs.

i only know about Queens Park, cos my late DM told me it was Kings Park when she was young.

Don’t know if any other places change names for monarch or if they stay the same.

I think it was 2 hours last time, then off to the pub.

@LoopyGremlin it usually lasts for an hour, so should wrap up by 12:30 ish. Then off to the pub for drinks. 😊

I can't overstate how much I want to be there but I just can't make my childcare work. Solidarity and respect to everyone going
