Not sure if it is today or next week. Do we know if this is open like the tribunals?

Ah is that what it is?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/09/2022 11:20

MN glitchy posts I mean.

PastaForLife · 13/09/2022 11:21

Lol KM telling the judge it would be quicker if Mr N would answer the questions

nauticant · 13/09/2022 11:21

JN telling the court how he wants the proceedings to go from now on.

Signalbox · 13/09/2022 11:21

JN now complaining that the questioning isn't progressing as quickly as he'd hoped.

NecessaryScene · 13/09/2022 11:21

Do the Mermaids sign even know what line they're supposed to be arguing?

Maya's employer had exactly the same problem. They couldn't decide whether her views were so heinous that they couldn't possibly ever tolerate them, or that her views were of course absolutely fine, but it was her behaviour.

I think they're so far down the rabbit hole of cognitive dissonance from trans nonsense, that they can't even tell when they're not making a consistent argument, so they don't have the necessary self-awareness to try to keep it together to make themselves look better.

Signalbox · 13/09/2022 11:21

Judge says "can I get a word in please"

JN now complaining that the questioning isn't progressing as quickly as he'd hoped.

Or that the right questions are being asked. He is not allowed to direct the questions. Does he know how this works?

I wish AR had a bit more refuting proof at her fingertips.

I think I saw it was Karon Monaghan QC today.

is it? Then I wish she had it.

hopefully, trying to pretend that sexual orientation doesn't exist, by invoking mixed saunas from a badly edited 70s porn film, won't be swaying the judge.

'Some women aren't bothered by being naked in a space with men. Like in some Scandinavian countries'

Such as? I'm sure we have enough people with experience from such countries here to knock that one on the head.

Finland, generally, no. Public-access saunas such as in hotels or the like are strictly sex-separated, usually on a time rota.

Private saunas within families or friend groups, possibly mixed-sex, but still usually not.

There is a lot more nudity - you will probably see most of your work colleagues of the same sex nude in a company sauna at some point. But not those of the opposite sex.

It's a very common theme you see among TRAs, usually American, this fantasy that large chunks of Europe are some sort of mixed-sex free-love hippy space.

Long-term resident of Denmark here. Lots of nudity in changing rooms, but these are single sex facilities. Local sports centre has notices up saying kids older than I think it was 7/8 have to change in facilities of their sex. There are also a couple of family changing rooms for use if parent not happy for kid to be on their own. Some nudist beaches, but these are few and far between and people are generally discreet if sunbathing topless. Haven't ever seen any showing off or flashing.

IcakethereforeIam · 13/09/2022 11:24

Would the lesbians on his committee even be on the committee if they had a problem with it?

Helleofabore · 13/09/2022 11:26

What an old fashioned windbag.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/09/2022 11:28

There was a man a few years back who specifically changed his "gender" in Denmark and demanded to access women's changing rooms, and filmed it on YouTube. He wouldn't normally have been allowed access, as a perfectly obvious man, and women weren't happy.

Helleofabore · 13/09/2022 11:28

IcakethereforeIam · 13/09/2022 11:24

Would the lesbians on his committee even be on the committee if they had a problem with it?

I doubt it.

If I knew this pompous git was on a committee, I doubt I would be on it if I even had a smidge of a difference of opinion.

And I cannot believe these groups say things like 'trans people do not simply grow up to be gay' now that 'gay' can mean anything.

IcakethereforeIam · 13/09/2022 11:30

That's what I thought, another echo chamber in all probability. Dissenters would either self exclude, be kicked off or not invited.

YRGAM · 13/09/2022 11:30

That transcript from yesterday is the cringiest thing I've ever seen. I suppose that's what happens when your usual response is to cry transphobe and request Twitter bans - it's going to get ugly for you when you're in an actual court of law!

Helleofabore · 13/09/2022 11:34

It seems very surprising how both these men have admitted to not reading the Cass report in any depth.

And yet, Nicholson is a sitting MP who regularly tweets about these issues. But there you have it.... he hasn't read with any depth the interim report... or so he maintains in a court of law, while tweeting about children's health care with supposed authority.

I am sorry for anyone in this person's electorate.

ScreamingMeMe · 13/09/2022 11:35

Found this tip on twitter, if anyone is still having problems connecting:

"For anyone trying to watch the Mermaids hearing and struggling to get connected, I found that I was able to connect if I didn't try to join without video/audio - that seems to be the bug"

This has been deleted by MNHQ because it was placed here by a previously banned poster.

As nauticant and others indicate, if all your resources are being consumed by fighting battles brought to your door by others, you don't have much choice about using your resources as you'd wish.

It's akin to blaming firefighters for fighting fires and strategically looking for fire breaks rather than the people intentionally setting fire circles.

Helleofabore · 13/09/2022 11:54

How interesting that KM is now pointing out the tweeting history of Nicholson. I wonder if the windbag will puff up even more now.

Helleofabore · 13/09/2022 12:05

Oh lovely..... 'perfectly seemly'!

Is this person living in another time? And is a commentator on modern issues?

StellaAndCrow · 13/09/2022 12:16

MargaritaPie · 11/09/2022 15:05

I have noticed a lot of gender-criticals are men (seems to be middle-aged men as opposed to younger men). There's a lot of male LGB-Alliance supporters and a lot of the demonstrators at the drag-Queen story reading were men. Again, just my own observation.

Women really are invisible to some people, aren't they?
I keep being surprised about it, all over again.

IloveHolby · 13/09/2022 12:17

it's risible jibber jabber.

brought a smile to my face @Datun it most certainly is!

thanks for the thread everyone I can watch so using this to follow the proceedings

Datun · 13/09/2022 12:20

BB - I don't have the data but I would dispute that assertion.

🤣🤣🤣

These people!!

"I disagree. I can't tell you how, why, or with what information, but I dooo."

The muppetry never ceases to amaze me.

ScreamingBeans · 13/09/2022 12:25

I have noticed a lot of gender-criticals are men

<Sigh> I know it's low hanging fruit and someone else may have asked it (working my way through the thread) but how do you know they identify as men?
